Amazingly Bob and Mary are keeping Turtle's quality and service as great as ever! The bread's are awesome! You just cannot get a better deli sandwich. Hanging out with the folks eating on the patio is always fun.

“Best sandwhiches in the world!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012 via mobile

Ok so this is my fourth trip to St. Croix and I make at least one trip to Turtle's Deli each time I go. Their sandwhiches are massive and can usually be split unless you have an extremely hefty appetite. All ingredients are super fresh, the breads are all made in house, and the views of the water are amazing. If you make your way to Frederickstead or St. Croix you definitely need to hit this place up!

“Huge sandwiches”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

Take out or eat on the beach. The biggest deli sandwiches anywhere. The Reuben was great. Right on the beach in downtown Fredricksted.

“Ask for an extra napkin...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

Turtles Deli sits at one end of Strand street in Fredriksted, right on the Caribbean. A lot of places say "on the water", they are...if you are there on a day with a little rough water, sit back a bit from the edge of the patio...or your lunch could end up in Davey Jones locker. Their standard menu seemed to offer a variety of meat & vegetarian fare, both hot & cold offerings. They also post a list of daily specials. They bake their own breads so I went for a special, "Kaiser Rueben on pumpernickel/rye swirl." The sandwich was impressive in size, quality corned beff & pastrami, plus the usual rueben ingedients. Truly too much for me to eat in one sitting. My companions ordered the cold Italian sub & a mushroom melt, again, too much. Great location & view, coupled with quality ingredients, friendly & hospitable owners/operators, makes it a place to visit if you find yourself out west on St. Croix. Oh, remember the extra napkins.

“YUMMIE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

I have to start with I have never been a fan of chicken salad. The military ladies there said it was one of the best and even if I didn't like it I would love this one. She was so right!! it was a little messy to ask for extra napkins then use their bathroom to wash your face. The curry was delightful it was sweet, fruity, and a little (very little) spicy. The lettuce gave it a nice crunch their home made bread took it over the top! I also tried the islander pineapple, ham, and cheese it was the perfect amount of sweet with salty. No matter how wonderful the sandwiches were the view was even better! I hope we get to go back there before we leave.
