“Worth a Visit!”
Reviewed July 28, 2014

The National Park Service staff member at the desk, Shavonne, was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was a pleasure talking to her. The fort is well taken care of, with information signs throughout the grounds. There are great views of the harbor up at the cannons. It is a great place to learn some history about the islands. There are other structures nearby (part of the Christiansted National Historic Site) such as the Customs House and Scale House with more information about colonial times in the Danish colony. Worth a visit! Note: If you are disabled, you can get a free NPS pass that will allow you and family members free admission to all NPS facilities!

We didn't get into the fort that day, but wish we had - only $3 but didn't have the time -- go visit!

Good history. Interesting site. Beautiful views. Won't take more than 2 hours if you read everything and walk everywhere.

“Interesting history”
Reviewed July 1, 2014

Was a great stop to see an original fort from the 1700's. Enjoyed walking the structure and reading its history. But use caution in the parking lot it closes when the park does and is locked up. A park ranger is required to get out and a parking violation citation will be issued. Your vehicle will also be booted to deter your escape.

“Great history lesson”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

Liked the visit very much but the dark side of the slave trade echoes from the walls. Area has National Park personnel on duty willing to help with any questions or offer tours if the staffing allows.
