Our family traveled to beautiful St. Croix for the week after Christmas and spent a half day sailing in the waters off the northside of the island with Captain Dee and her first mate Mason. We met them on the boardwalk and were welcomed on board with a smile and a helping hand. We quickly got underway and began to learn firsthand about St. Croix, sailing and her ship, the Zulu. Captain Dee has sailed all over the world but she came to St Croix as an environmental educator. She knows the island well and loved to share her passion for sailing with my three college age kids. Instead of heading to Buck Island where there were big crowds, we headed to the waters off Green Cay. We swam from the boat outfitted from her stock with a snorkel and fins. We snorkeled for nearly an hour led by the first mate Mason who helped us identify many different species of fish and other sea creatures. When we climbed back on board, Captain Dee had a healthy spread ready for us that the whole family thoroughly enjoyed! (We even ended up swapping some recipes!!) Our trip back to the dock was a relaxing sail in favorable winds during which we learned so much more about the area and the people who live there. We all completely enjoyed our day and would definitely go out exploring with Captain Dee and her crew anytime!!

I just got back from a blustery sail today to find your review on Trip Advisor. I can not say enough thank you's to the "friends of ZULU" for taking time to write such nice things about our excursion.
Mason and I really enjoyed your time aboard. I will let him know that you have posted great remarks about his expertise in guiding your snorkeling tour. This will mean a lot to him.
I have purchased all the ingrediants to try the Buffalo Wing Dip (even the rotisserie chicken)
I am worried I may like it too much and it will not make it to the boat.
Happy New Year and do come back for a visit, we enjoyed sailing with your family!

We sailed with Dee and first mate Cole when the "Christmas winds" were blowing. There were 4 of us, and I'm the only one who really likes sailing, but all four of us had a great time. The snokeling was great. The water was a bit rough but Cole really knew what he was doing and showed us a lot of awesome stuff. My son said this was the first time he has ever been properly shown how to use his mask and had one that fit. He loved not having any leaks.

Dee will give your group what they want. We had a great hour of sailing (with no motor on), and great hour of snokeling, a great snack that was more like a meal (cheese, crackers, rum drinks - cococino I think - shrimp, muffins, and chocolates).

The four hour trip was $400, and we got to do exactly what we wanted. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to sail and snokel! Great job Dee and Cole.

Thank you and Happy New Year! Guess what ~the Christmas Winds are still blowing:) Yes we have had more than our share of great Caribbean sailing weather with good snorkeling on the leeside of the little island called Green Cay. Green Cay is the gateway of the East End Marine Park Sanctuary and can be a wonderful place to set anchor. How many people can say they snorkeled the entire coastline of a Cay!
Well I am happy you enjoyed your time with Cole he loves to show the "friends of ZULU" a good time while aboard. BTW the coquito has all been consumed and we will make more next Christmas season.
Thanks again for a lovely review

Thank you for a lovely review. We are having a wonderful beginning of the season. It is Christmas Carnival on St. Croix and the weather has been outstanding. ZULU loves to sail and we continue to get her out to the deep blue seas that surroung the North Coast to look for flying fish. We are also excited for the upcoming Humpback Whale migration. We are going to be here so please come back and sail with us again Sailing is "like a box of chocolates"
Happy New Year!

We went on a 1/2 day sail with Dee and Donald. If you are a family or small group it is just as economical to charter this private boat as it is to go on one of the big boats and you have it all to yourself. They both made sure we enjoyed ourselves.

Thanks for taking your time to review our sailing adventure abaord ZULU. These reviews are have been most helpful in giving travelers a chance to select their itinerary in advance of their trips with the most favored tours by reviewers. You make an excellent point in saying that we are not that much more expensive then other sailing trips and you get your own boat. We also provide water, soft drinks and snacks along with excellent snorkeling lessons and guided tours.
Happy Holidays and thanks from the crew of ZULU:)
