We are headed home after a week at one of our favorite vacation spots ever! We loved the layout of the "rooms" which are more like bungalows. Extremely private and even when it's at capacity does not feel busy. Views are amazing, the private screened in porches are perfect for an afternoon siesta:). Rooms are also large with big bathrooms. Very casual atmosphere - don't need a lot of dressy clothes. I would suggest renting a car to get around the island but stay on the north shore if you are looking for less touristy options. We did have room service and ate several meals on property- all were very good especially the Mahi-Mahi sandwich. All staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Only complaint is they started working on the lawn service at 7am:(. Raking leaves and backing up golf carts when everyone has their doors open to listen to the waves isn't so great.

Would defiantly stay here again!

The location of this resort is beautiful. It reminded me of the coast in non urban Hawaii. If you want to visit nearby restaurants and stores you need a car or rent a cab as none are within walking distance. The scenery was beautiful and the beach was great. Most renovations are complete. Food is a bit expensive and not always consistent. For the most part it is good. We had to contact maintenance to fix blown fuses, We also asked to have a sharp lump of cement in the shower, but it stayed for the duration. Staff are all friendly, but need training about how to not complain or give excuses. One example was when we asked about some food and said it was better the previous day. We were told it was a different cook and they were not always consistent with ingredients. As a result we spoke with them and told them this was not acceptable and had that item comp'd.
I would go again. The coast across the island was beautiful and restaurants in towns were good.

We would recommend for people who want a restful and peaceful vacation.

If you like a good hike there were trails to a tidal pool with more beautiful coastal areas.

Room Tip: The suites were one bedroom with water views. Ocean front larger units available.

Really really enjoyed this resort. Quiet, romantic, breathtaking views on the edge of the rainforest. The rooms were spacious and beautiful with really great screened in porch. Our room was situated over rocky portion of the beach so we could always hear the crashing waves. It was wonderful. The beach at this resort is varied, from the rocky shore on the east side to the big beautiful sandy beach on the west where you could wade in and experience pretty decent snorkeling. Lots of beach chairs and service from the bar and restaurant. Hike on the property was awesome to nearby secluded cove and tide pools. The staff at the resort was excellent…a great surprise considering some reviews we had read....Definitely NOT our experience. Everyone was great. Great service, friendly and personable. From the management to the bell boys to the guard stand. The food was a little pricey but not unusual for the island…and certainly not unusual for Marriott resorts. Sliders and cheeseburgers were amazing! Work out facility was adequate and the pool was nice as well. St. Croix in general seems to be getting better with each trip. Once you learn to be smart and on the lookout for potential crime, it's all good. e plan to go back.

We just returned from a week in St Croix and really enjoyed our stay at the Renaissance. The resort is beautifully landscaped on the edge of a wonderful beach and the rainforest. We are Platium members so we got upgraded to room 155 right on the beach. The rooms are spacous with a large bathroom, double sinks, and a hugh shower. The second floor units are best because of the high ceilings and big beams. The best part was the screened in porch that had two couch areas to sleep on while listening to the waves..
Definately rent a car because the resort is isolated between the two cities. Driving on the left was really not a big deal. The night driving was a bit scary but bring a gps so you don't get lost. Lots of great little restaurants on the way to Christianstead(loved Eat at Cain Bay and Roudy Joes). The staff was very friendly. We really liked Carmen as she really went out of her way to help us.We went to the pool area twice and really enjoyed that. Nice new, modern lounge chairs and large clean pool.
Now the bad: the only reason to keep this resort from a 5 was the restaurant. We had dinner the first night and it was the worst experience we've ever had. No one greeted us, Ordered drinks from a server but they never came so I went to the bar and after repeating what I wanted three times finally got them. Food took 30 minutes and the order was wrong and the prices were totally overpriced even for a high end resort. Very disorganized.

Room Tip: Buildings 14, 15 or 16 are right on the beach, Ask for second floor.

My wife and I got away from the sub-zero Ohio weather for a week at this resort. We are Marriott Timeshare Owners and we used Reward points for the week. Two weeks prior we found out we were upgraded from a mountain view to ocean view deluxe. I was figuring that if I peered out the window I may be able to glimpse the ocean. I was wrong. I will get to that later. We arrive at the airport, pick up a rental car and they gave us directions to the resort. The island is very difficult to get around, in my opinion and I think I have a good sense of direction. A GPS is a must . We missed a turn but eventually we made it.
Check in was a breeze. They load your bags in a golf cart and take you to your building. Each building has four rooms in them. We get to ours and it is the biggest hotel room I have seen. It has an area with a couch and a TV in one section. It had a mini dishwasher, full sized refrigerator, microwave and a two burner stove. Bathroom with two sinks and a large shower and toilet in another part. Large walk-in closet. The bedroom was nice but the balcony/screened in porch was awesome. I am sitting in bed writing this review with the balcony doors open listening to the waves, can't see it now because it is dark. The ocean is about 30 feet away. We slept all week with the doors open so we could hear the sea.
The staff was great. Not sure what her title is but Jackie seemed to be always working and took time to answer any question we had. She is a star and deserves a raise.
The pool area is very nice as is the beach. Nice sandy bottom. There was construction going on, they were pouring concrete for sidewalks but that didn't bother us as we are early risers. The grounds are well kept.
The only complaints that we could possibly come up with was the lack of a clock radio/alarm clock. We can't remeber a hotel room without one. It didn't bother us as we were on island time for the week and had a 5:30pm return flight. Also they need some signs indicating how to get to the resort. Divi has signs all over the island.
I don't think this resort is ideal for kids. There didn't seem to be any activities for them but I wasn't looking either. Maybe there were.
Overall it was a wonderfully relaxing week. We really enjoyed the week we spent here and enjoyed escaping the brutal winter weather back home

Room Tip: Building 1 is the last building to the east. It is farthest from the beach but very secluded. We were in room 15.

Hello and thanks so much for your great review. Coming from a cold and snowy Ohio winter, you really landed in the right place. I agree with you about having additional signage around the island. We are actually working on that. Sounds like you stayed in one of our beachfront rooms and yes, the sounds of the ocean are beautiful and calming. Hope you plan to visit us again!
