I brought a first time snorkeler here along with snorkeling equipment. The name, Swirling Reef of Death, had her shaking in her fins, but the waters are calm and there are lots of fish to see. It was formerly Dan's Reef and a group of high school students were given the task of giving it a new name that was more exciting. It is a calm, shallow site just a few minutes south of Fredricksted pier. You will find plenty of diverse reef life. If you look it up on YouTube, there is a short video -- under a minute -- taken with an underwater camera that will give you an idea of what you may see. My friend saw a baby octopus and we both saw a colorful assortment of fish.
