We originally did the long hike in and then realized we could cut off to the Carambola beach resort and make it a much easier journey on the way back. A little daunting with my 7 year old getting around the big stones to get into the pools. But so worth it! Just such an original, exciting adventure...a definitely must!

Nice hike (first ten minutes is up hill). Good exercise. Don't go at high tide and watch up for the many, many ants on the path.

The hike was tougher than we thought it was going to be, lots of uphill and downhill. We did do it in the pouring rain however which made it a bit slippy. The tide pools are tough to get to, you need to do a bit of rock climbing to get there. It was cool however and we were glad we did it.

This is about a 40 minute hike. Make sure to get good, detailed directions, or you could hike the wrong way (like we did) for an extra hour or two. :) You don't need a guide, but it doesn't hurt.

This was an adventure. We had a guided tour, and I recommend it. There are lots of big tricky rocks to cross to get where you need to be and the tide is really crashing in. It was one of the most beautiful and amazing sights to be right there in the middle of it all. This is a place that should not be missed, while you are visiting St. Croix
