“Anniversary Trip”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

Just returned from our first trip to Turks and Caicos and it definitely will not be our last. The resort was located right on the beach in front of the coral reef. The hotel is spotless and the staff are outstanding. I cannot say enough about the warm smiles and friendliness of all the hotel employees. We stayed in a studio that did not overlook the water, the room was perfect, however it would have been nice to see the water. Next year we will book a room overlooking the beach.
This was the most peaceful place to spend our 25th Anniversary.

The hotel is beautiful and very clean. But the staff is what really shines! We love Rose the bartender, and Royalton's questions. And Jerome, Nick and Samuel.
Even Nati towel guy is super sweet! We stayed her for a week in July 2013! If we travel to the Caribbean again we will definitely stay there! The best reef to snorkel in the area is right in front of the hotel. We snorkeled at sunup or sundown, there were less people around and tons more fish!

Room Tip: Definitely snorkel the reef off the beach near the hotel first thing in the morning or right before...

We strive to provide a great value in our hotel product and service, and we thank you for recognizing it.

We look forward to serving again in the future.

My husband and I spent a lovely week at the Windsong. We started in a basic room, I think the least expensive ones offered, it didn't have a balcony, the room was nice, a good size and a partial kitchen, but really you must upgrade to the balcony rooms, these are amazing, we upgraded to a large one bedroom with a full kitchen, laundry, amazing ocean view and wrap around balcony, it is totally worth the extra money for the upgraded room. I think you must upgrade to the full ocean view, balcony rooms, totally worth the cost for the extra space and view. The staff is very helpful and kind, Ian at the front desk is great, but really so is everyone that works here. If I was really going to reach for anything negative to say it would be that the towel man can be a bit much to deal with on a tropical vacation to such a lovely peaceful place, he takes the one towel rule and chairs for guests only rule really seriously. Windsong has a great location, very clean, great beds, updated rooms, great staff, right on Grace Bay Beach and the reef is right in front of the hotel (many people walk down the beach from other hotels to snorkel at the reef). Would 100% stay here again.

Room Tip: You want a full ocean view one bedroom room with balcony

I am the wife of Railmich......Two days ago, i was mad about my room I had. I was not happy about the description of the room. It was not what I booked on expedia for the ocean view...Yesterday I spoke with the manager and she tell me the problem was witn the translation from spanish to french and in spanish it was note that room was with a partial view to the sea.
She gave me 100% satisfaction and more, no dout about it.. I moved to a BIG suite with every thing no charge with a real view to ocean. She gone fix those information and check for that translation to be sure that mistake will not appen again..
Great place good appreciation for poeple......
Sorry for the mistunderstood they fix every thing.....
I will come back for sure....
railmich.

Room Tip: Check for profile room.....if it is a ocean view or partial view

The one bedroom oceanfront at the Windsong was a lovely place to spend our first T&C visit. The room itself was completely done in travertine tiles throughout. The kitchen was all high end, western style appliances. We had a huge balcony overlooking Grace Bay and one entire corner of the room could be opened to the terrace allowing you to just live outside since the weather was mostly perfect. The place was meticulously clean. These rooms are not cheap by any means, but the value was still good given the condition and the 2 minute walk out to a pristine beach with waist high clear blue waters out at least 100 ft. The staff was friendly and helpful at arranging cars, dinners and events (snorkeling, Halloween for the kids, etc). Particularly, you'll find Ian at the front desk very helpful.

For our first visit to Turks and Caicos we stayed in the 2 bedroom villa for 12 nights celebrating our 10 year anniversary. The villa is basically a house on the beach next to the main hotel with your own private pool. You get all the amenities of the Resort, but you get the privacy of your own villa. It is extremely expensive to stay at the villa. Having our own pool, our own private deck, and basically our own beach was awesome.

The resort as a whole was ok. There seems to be 2 types of resorts in Turks and Caicos. The secluded, quiet resorts and the bigger, active resorts. We are usually the type of couple that opts for the bigger more active resorts, but we could not pass up having our own private pool at the villa. We did our research and it is the only room with a private pool right on Grace Bay. It was nice staying at a quiet resort but we missed the activities and food options of the bigger resorts. We found ourselves driving or taking a taxi to the other resorts to eat and find things to do.

My recommendation for first time visitors is to stay wherever the best deal is on Grace Bay. The small hotels all seem to be alike and offer the same amenities. Check out Costco Travel, as that is where we got our great deal for the Windsong.

My only complaint about the Windsong is that we did not get asked one single time by any employee if they could help us. Maybe, because we were in the Villa, they forgot about us, but the customer service just was not there. The waiters and waitresses were very nice, and the lady that showed us our room on day one was also nice, but besides that no one ever offered us any help, guidance or advice without us asking. This is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars.

I read a ton of complaints about the cost of everything in Turks and while the prices are higher, it never bothered us. Turks and Caicos is not your average Caribbean island. This is one of the best islands in the Caribbean. I have been to many Caribbean islands and while this was the most expensive one we have been to, it is also the most beautiful and it was worth every penny. We bought groceries the first day to save money. We spent $200 on groceries that would have cost about $80 in the US. Gas was $6 per gallon and alcohol is about 2-3 times as much as at home. WHO CARES, your in paradise. If you can't afford to pay for these things then go to a filthy, overcrowded Mexico beach =) There is barely any poverty here and we felt safe driving anywhere on the island. It is truly beautiful and amazing in Turks and Caicos. We can't wait to go back!

One last thing..... BRING BUG SPRAY! There are mosquitoes everywhere after the sun goes down and they are viscous.

Room Tip: 2 Bedroom Villa might be the best room on the island!

We are thrilled you had a great stay at the Windsong Resort and that you find our Villa amazing. Thank you for taking the time to share the many positive aspects of your trip.

We are sorry to learn that our staff did not interact with you, and we will make note of this for general training.

We continually strive to introduce services that are of interest to our guests and so, we hope that the entertainment from our Caribbean Jerk night, karaoke and movie nights will be complimentary.

We loved our room especially the sliding glass doors across the entire living space out to the deck over looking the ocean. The staff at the Windsong were for the most part extremely helpful and courteous. We especially enjoyed suggestions from Royalton. He seems committed to trying to make the experience at Windsong not only good for the customers but for the owners as well. His easy going friendly demeanor made him our favorite staff member at the resort. The Havana Club was fun especially to watch the world series games and Monday night football. Plus the liquid courage Jerome put in my Mohijo helped me sing karaoke for the first time (and probably last). My husband and I both enjoyed singing. Breakfast at Jojo's was good, but lunch/dinner not so good. That is not a problem though because Somewhere restaurant is a short walk on the beach and offered good mexican food. The location of the resort is perfect. Lot's of walking on the beach. The people at the front desk we're willing to take care of any requests we had. Weather requesting additional conditioner and towels, calling Ligi for a taxi ride, or making a dinner reservation. This was a great 10 year anniversary trip, and I'm glad we spent it at the Windsong Resort.

We are glad that you enjoyed your visit to the Windsong Resort. Thank you for spending your 10 year anniversary with us.

Royalton, Jerome and the rest of the team will be happy that they helped to make your stay a great one.

We appreciate that you liked our daily complimentary breakfast, and we are currently working on some menu changes for lunch and dinner that we hope you will enjoy.

We hope to see you again
