“You Gotta Do This”
Reviewed February 26, 2013 via mobile

If the expression "time flies when you're having fun" has any merit, the Scooter Tour with Paradise Scooters is the best way to find out how quickly 6 hours can slip by (both literally and figuratively) in paradise. There can be no better way to get an overview of the island than the guided tour with Rosa. For new or unsure (cautious) riders you can test your scooter driving skills without even leaving the parking area behind the rental shop. From thereon, the trip moves along in graduated increments that will coincide with your increased confidence and competence in handling a motorized "bike". Our trip took us to places that we would undoubtedly not have seen and experienced except for this tour. And Rosa is the icing on the cake. We had such a wonderful day with her that we were enthralled to have her join us for evening dinner.

“Paradise Scooters...rent scooters here, we had a blast!”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

We rented 2 gas scooters from Paradise, located right in the heart of the Grace Bay shopping district. A nice, helpful family staff assited us quickly with a contract, a map of attractions, new helmets, new bikes, a quick lesson and off we went. Their own brand of bikes were stable and peppy 125 cc models.

The cost is about $65 a day per bike (all in) for rental and insurance, not bad, since you will spend this on a small rental car per day, and it doubles as a fun activity. Two riders can fit on a single bike, but your mate will enjoy the freedom of thier own machine. Another consideration is fuel, we used about $13 TOTAL for the 2 machines in 48 hours and we did some touring! By comparison, we spent $60 + for gas in an SUV for 2 days and went less distance ($6 / gallon gas). The scooters have lots of storage too, just use a backpack for snorkel fins.

You can move about most of the island on the scooters, we even saw the Paradise guide at Bugaloo's on their Vespa tour (would not suggest that area or Blue Hills though alone on scooters near or after dark). Just watch for rough roads as these are not off road bikes. If you are on Leeward highway, you will have more than enough power/speed, however, you will also be dealing with large trucks, crazy taxi vans and some very fast and busy round abouts...suggest you stay on Lower Bight and similar secondary roads when possible.

Stay on the left, carefully navigate EVERY round about and private driveway (use your horn liberally!) and you will enjoy the freedom and fun. Rain? No problem, the fenders and front fairings leave you quite dry unless it is pouirng. Just be prepared to slowly drive on sidewalks and in middle of road to navigate the large puddles that form in 4 or 5 spots after a heavy rain.

Highly recommend Paradise...well worth the little extra money for thier personalized service, the new machines and the fun factor. Maybe though they will consider a multi-day discount in the future to compete with small car rental a bit better ;). Well done Paradise!

“A must for anyone visiting Turks & Caicos - brilliant!”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

This family run business sets out to offer scooter tours of Providenciales, and does it brilliantly. The itinerary offers a unique tour of the best parts of the island, the Vespa scooters are perfect for the task, training is available to anyone that needs it, and our tour guides Rosa & Nancy were the icing on the cake - at all times patient, knowledgeable, kind and great fun. This tour featured added value of the best kind, explains why it was the highlight of my week. Highly recommended! John C. (UK)

“Fun time”

Rosa was a great tour guide with a great personality. If you're going to rent a scooter do it in a group, since some parts of the island aren't so safe.

“A fabulous way to see Providenciales - HIGHLY recommended!”
Reviewed February 22, 2013 via mobile

Spending the day zooming around the island on a little red Vespa being guided by the fun and knowledgeable Rosa was a complete hoot. This new family-run business makes sure that you see wonderful parts of the island that you'd not normally see, and in a way that friends and family would do. Lunch at beachfront Bugaloo's (?) was made even better by Rosa and her mom Nancy suggesting we eat with our tables, chairs and feet in the water - heaven! I would have felt nervous driving on the "wrong" side of the road on my own, but felt perfectly safe being guided by Rosa with Nancy there to help marshal traffic when needed. Can't recommend this tour highly enough.
