“good meal/good price”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

We enjoyed our hearty dinner at Middle Caicos. It is located behind The Beaches, (a quick walk from The Alexandra, Veranda, etc.), next to a collection of souvenir/craft booths. And since it was a Wednesday/special, each dinner was only $10, the best price we found in Provo. We had: fish and chips with salad, and grilled (ok it looked fried) fish with vegetables & salad; and beer. The portions were large, the waitress was terrific, and the chef/s were friendly. The casual setting suited us just fine. Definitely not a touristy spot. It's open for breakfast, lunch, dinner. We were delighted with the whole experience.

“Local restaurant near the resorts”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

We stayed at the Alexandra and didn't rent a car so had to rely on our feet to get to restaurants. Middle Caicos is just a short walk from the Alexandra (it's located behind Beaches), located in the Cultural Center (several tourist shops run by locals). We went to Middle Caicos for a late lunch one day and had a fantastic meal. It's all outdoor seating and is very casual. On the day we went we were the only tourists - there were a handful of tables with locals drinking beer and playing cards. My husband and I shared a cracked lobster plate with plantains, slaw and rice and beans. The food was fantastic- fresh, hot and delicious. This is a great place to go if you want to go off the beaten path a bit and get away from the resort restaurants.

“Casual local spot”
Reviewed December 30, 2011

There are a lot of good places to eat in Provo, but for our last meal on the island, I wanted something distinctly local. During the week, we asked several people that we encountered (hotel staff, shop owners, the clerks at IGA, etc) where they liked to eat. More than a few said Middle Caicos Cafe. We went late in the evening on a Saturday. The place was very lively, with a soccer game playing on the TV above the bar. All seating is outdoors on a patio. Between my husband and I, we had cracked conch, chicken, plantains, slaw and mac 'n cheese. It did take a little while for us to get our food, but we weren't in any hurry and it was very hot and fresh when it came out. Everything was scrumptious! It is a very casual, laid-back place. Kind of like a Carribean version of a greasy spoon or ice house. I am really glad that we went.
