This delightful place blew our socks off. Yes, you're in a tiny "room" of a four-table restaurant with vinyl tablecloths, flies buzzing around a noisy ceiling fan, and possibly Judge Judy blasting from the TV set up in the corner but we couldn't have asked for a better first meal in Provo. We ordered the curry chicken and fried grouper plates complete with rice & peas and fried plantains--all of which would please the pickiest foodie. The food came out steaming hot from the kitchen and we devoured it happily, washing it all down with Coronas. While we were there we saw a couple locals come in to order lunch as well--always a great sign. Perhaps the icing on the cake was us realizing after we ordered that the Three Queens is cash-only (as many local places are in Provo), and having forgotten most of our cash in the hotel room, could only leave a $1 tip. The owner/cook was so gracious she told us not to worry about it and we were happy to return a few days later to leave a truly proper tip. Who else cooks customers a delicious lunch knowing you're only going to get a $1 tip??? This is located a bit far out past Da Conch Shack. It's a rather non-descript concrete building across the street from a conch vendor (you'll see the rows of shells gleaming in the sun) in a dirt parking lot. If you're looking to go where the locals go (i.e. like Smokey's, which we unfortunately didn't make it to), this is it. Balance it with a fancy candle-lit dinner somewhere else like CoCo Bistro and you'll experience the best of both worlds.
