“Wonderful resort with amazing ocean views!”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

We had a wonderful time at the Alexandra. Exchanged through II and got an ocean view on the second floor with a great view of the ocean. The water is amazing! So clear and calm. The food at the Mango Reef is excellent! We ate there most days/nights. The portions are also quite large, so we often ate half and took the other half back to the fridge in our room for lunch the next day. Manuel and Yolande were very friendly and attentive. Prices are somewhat pricey, but not outrageous considering the location. We also took the resort's shuttle to the market and stocked up on water, sodas and items for breakfast which helped. Other resorts and restaurants are within walkng distance from the resort as well, but we really liked Mango Reef. The shopping district is within walking distance, but we took a cab (about $10 pp up and $10 pp back). Available activities are snorkeling (equipment provided), parasailing, and the resort has kayaks and paddleboards available. We also took a sunset sail and saw glowworms which was a nice surprise since they are only visible about once a month during mating season. Pretty cool! We were there in the off season so it wasn't crowded, and sometimes we were the only ones by the pool. The room was very quiet and comfortable.

Thank you for staying at the Alexandra Resort. We do indeed occupy one of the best stretches of beach on Grace Bay, and we are pleased that you had such a great vacation. The Chelsea is one of four buildings at the resort, and the only one without washers and dryers in all of the units. Please know for a future visit that we do offer a guest laundry on site for guests staying in the Chelsea Building. Thank you for noting that not all restaurants are open in Providenciales in the fall. There are still many wonderful restaurants that remain open year round, and our concierge is always happy to assist guests in selecting restaurants that remain open during the "quiet season." The great part about visiting during the fall is that restaurants almost always have availability, which makes culinary experiences here a pleasure. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

My daughter and family had visited Grace Bay back in June, and after seeing some of her underwater pictures, I decided to make a quick trip down there (from Los Angeles) to do some snorkeling, snuba and scuba. I chose the Alexandra Resort as it was giving some great off-season discounts and the location was great, within walking distance down to Bight Reef. Meeting other people on some of my excursions, they thought that they might have been the only ones staying at their lodging, but the Alexandra Resort had quite a few people staying there. Probably due to the excellent discounts. The Restaurant at the resort, the Mango Reef, was excellent, and if you wanted to have your dinner on the beach itself, you could.

I had a Deluxe Studio Suite with a nice ocean view and balcony overlooking the pool area. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5, was that I had a problem with the air conditioner in the room and wasn't able to get it resolved till my last night there. Even though I kept the balcony window doors shut at all times, it seems that there is a sensor on one side, and if the doors don't make contact with the sensor, the air conditioning unit only blows fan air, not cold air. Finally the engineer was there when I was in the room, and showed me the problem.

I would recommend the Alexandra Resort for anyone looking for a pleasant stay in Grace Bay at a great location.

Thank you for staying at the Alexandra Resort. We appreciate receiving the positive feedback you shared about your vacation experience. I am sorry to learn you had a problem with the air conditioner in your unit and I appreciate your patience with that issue. We work hard to keep the resort in excellent condition but sometimes equipment does fail. I do hope you will choose the Alexandra Resort again for your next visit to Turks & Caicos.

Resort was beautiful and clean!
Staff was always very nice and helpful!
Food at Mangoreef was great!

Went during slow season (Sept) so had beach and pool almost to ourselves most of the time. Be prepared to spend a lot of money. Food at restaurant and supermarket is quite expensive, as are day trips and water sports. All in all NOTHING to complain about.

Room Tip: Ocean view is so worth it! Amazing sunset!

Just got back from an amazing week at the Alexandra Resort. This resort is located right on Grace Bay like many of the other resorts, but the piece of the beach here is fantastic. Granted though we went in low season so we almost had the beach and pool to ourselves, but if I went in high season the pool and beach are big enough to share :-) We stayed in one bedroom units, oceanfront, upper floor, Chelsea Building. The units were perfect for us in that each one had a full kitchen, balcony with table and chairs, big bathroom with tub/shower combo, and a bedroom with a comfy bed. One shorter person in the group commented the tub was a little hard for her short legs to get in and out of. The only thing missing was a washer and dryer but we were able to use one at the complex. The units were cleaned daily with fresh towels daily. There were plenty of beach towels by the pool, we never had problems getting chairs with umbrellas at the beach or pool (again off season). All the staff were friendly and helpful. Mae at the pool bar makes great RUM PUNCHES. We ate at the Mango Reef restaurant which is right at the resort twice, both times we requested a table on the beach. The food was excellent and we had our toes in the sand and hear and see the ocean right near us. What a dream! We know it is a good vacation when we talk about visiting again soon.

Now about visiting in off season: NOTE that a lot of restaurants are closed in Sept or Oct. We did get to da Conch Shack before it closed and had an unbelievable dinner at the Coco Bistro but there were restaurants we wanted to visit but could not since they were closed: Coyaba, Bay Bistro, Magnolia Wine Bar, Shark Bite Cafe, Lemon, Caicos Cafe to name a few. If you decide to see the Infiniti bar at Grace Bay Club, wait until evening because during the day, the top of the bar is hot enough to burn you.

As far excursion, we used Caicos Dream Tours right at the resort and had the best day! Wished we had done that trip earlier in the week. Great people who run that and made sure we had fun.

This resort is Awesome. I am still at the resort sipping rum punch at the Bar as I write. Great island and lovely property. My wife got Viral Gastroenteritis "Stomach Flu" while here in the middle of the night. The front desk staff sent Security over and he personally escorted us to the ER. We had a rental and he could tell I was unsure how to get there. He drove his vehicle and let us follow him. The hospital was awesome (& I am a Dr in the US). Back to the resort. Great food, drinks, and grounds. Mikey & Mae at the bar make great Drinks with a smile. Al the concierge set up all our tours and he was Great. Can't wait to come back!

Thank your for your recent visit to the Alexandra Resort. I am sorry to learn your spouse was ill and I hope now fully recovered. I will pass along your positive feedback about our customer service to the team. They work very hard to make every guest feel welcome and I know they will be pleased to receive your kind compliments. We look forward to your next visit to Turks & Caicos Islands, and we hope you will once again choose the Alexandra Resort.

We just returned from Providenciales and although it was my third time there, it was my first time back in 15 years. The Alexandra Resort is a wonderful place. It was a perfect time of year to go for two weeks, it was quiet and relaxing and everything about the place was sensational. We are planning to go back for three weeks next year. We were upgraded to oceanfront without us even asking. The staff - particularly Al, the concierge - were very welcoming and helpful. And one of the executives at the resort - Roland - was a pleasure to talk to and the fact that he has a tremendous singing voice (I ran into him at Danny Buoy's on karaoke night) was a wonderful surprise. I highly recommend this resort. It would be nice if the restaurant - Mango Reef, which is excellent - would have a decent happy hour but that's my only complaint.

My wife and I recently visited the Alexandra Resort. We had an amazing time and couldn't have asked for more. The price was fair, the location was great, food was amazing, room was clean and nicely updated and the service was good. We would highly recommend staying at this resort and renting a car during your stay to see the island.
