“Clean, quiet, affordable. 5-minute walk to the beach.”
Reviewed April 7, 2014

We stayed here for 6 nights and generally enjoyed our stay. The place is now called Inn at Grace Bay, the name-change must've been recent because taxis and tour companies still know and call the place Trade Winds. So, if you're taking a taxi from the airport or calling one from the hotel, they will know the place as Trade Winds.

We had a room on the third floor and had a sliver of the ocean to see. The place is not ocean front, but a 5-minute walk to the beach. They have 5 lounge chairs on the beach and we always had chairs to sit on when we go to the beach. The chairs do not have umbrellas, so you have to have your own (the unit we rented had one on the patio, plus we bought another one that we left on the patio as well). The sand on Grace Bay was great- powdery soft sand. The water had an undertow sometimes. The beach in front of the condo was quiet, a walk on the right and left side of the beach would lead you to more crowded areas because of the bigger hotels.

The room was kept clean. They will replenish your towels as you wish. They had breakfast of coffee and pastries only from 8-9AM. They had toiletries in the bathroom (shampoo/conditioner/soap/lotion). We did meet and get to chat with the property caretaker/resident, Shynette(Sp?), who was really nice and friendly, and answered questions we had, she can also arrange for tours and taxis. The property also had a nice pool which was also clean and well maintained. The bedroom only had a curtain, so you would be forced to wake up as the sun goes up because it will get really bright in the bedroom, this was fine for us, but if you'd like to sleep later, definitely bring an eyeshade/mask.

The condotel is walking distance to many restaurants and shopping areas. The grocery was 10-15 minute walk. Everything in Provo were maybe triple the prices as the US. We usually stay in a beach front property when we go to the beach, but considering the price, this place was fine.

I just had to write something, although I've never done so before.... My best childhood girlfriend and I needed a vacay, and we just randomly picked turks and caicos, but I'm almost certain now that it was not by accident.... We ve taken many trips over the last 20 years of our friendship, but who knew this would top past trips to places such as Amsterdam and st marten (which were also amazing!) just to name a few. We had no idea where to stay or what to do and the weeks leading up to the trip, as it always goes, we got slammed with our jobs. We hadn't done much research, but we were a bit nervous of where to stay... We hadn't known but one person between the 2 of us who knew much of anything about turks, so we just went by gut instinct. We had done numerous searches on hotel websites and search engines to no avail.... It almost seemed we were going to end up at the awful airport hotel (meaning not near anything but the airport!) or sleeping on the beach! But alas I ended up on vrbo, and found bwws.... I was nervous because on the search engines it said they didn't have room those dates, but I directly emailed them and a lovely woman by the name of Leslie promptly replied.... As luck would have it, she had just one "condotel" available for our dates.... We took it as a sign and jumped on it.... Now we weren't expecting much as the prices were considerably less then other s we had searched in the neighborhood, I don't know if it s because everything else was booked or because they just have the most decent and down to earth prices in the neighborhood, but let me say, it was the best money we ever spent! It was a BEAUTIFUL 3rd floor one bed (king size!) apartment, beautiful balcony and everything we could have received at a hotel.... Wifi, cable, we even got breakfast (muffins) and coffee every morning by the pool with the lovely Shineth....but with a fully stocked kitchen!! It really couldn't have been better! Oh, we even got a local cell phone that we could buy minutes for to call anyone or anything on the island.... And we used it, a lot! I will say we did have a car, I don't think we could have done a quarter of the things we did without, so I highly suggest renting one or a Vespa, which also looked fun. We can't speak highly enough of our stay, and would 100% come back and rent thee exact same room!
Also, we stumbled upon our favorite beach because my friend is a kite surfer, long bay beach, hands down a favorite because of the locals and the kiting school residing there. If you have any interest in doing some fun stuff, look up TCKitesurfing! An amazing team of kite surfing instructors led by our favorite Wayne, a very funny and entertaining irish guy who cant be beat. And if the wind isn't going so well, they have a jet ski and can take you on a tour of an amazing abandoned ship, total goonies style! It was beyond one of our favorite things to do!
We just had an amazing time both at play and at home and we couldn't have been more sad to leave this gorgeous island and beautiful people. I have never gone to the same vacation twice, but I'm starting to rethink my rules! Hope you have as much fun as we did! Thank you bwws and TCKitesurfing!!!!

Shiners was wonderful. She was at poolside everyday with her coffee and muffins for the guests. It was also a great way to meet other guests the condo was spotless and very comfortable . It's about a 5 minute walk to the beach . The brown chairs are the resorts. Coral Gardens reef is a 45 minute walk and we'll worth it. Great snorkeling . Just walk through the sands to the beach and walk north have a late lunch at Somewhere. A cab will cost about $25 for 2 round trip if you can get a car. It is now called the inn at grace bay. Shineth will meet any request or questions you have . She was a great asset

We just got back from another great stay in Turks and Caicos. We were treated so well here. It was so nice to go back for the third time and catch up with some of the friends that we have made there over the past few years. We were treated like gold. Thanks Leslie and Shineth

We stayed at the Blue Water White Sands Resort in Providenciales for a family vacation with our 17 month old daughter, while my brother and his family (wife and two young sons) stayed at an adjoining apartment with a connecting door that we kept open most of the time during the day, and then closed at night. I would describe the accommodation as a spacious apartment, with a huge bedroom (complete with an absolutely massive bed!), a decent bathroom (shower only) and a large living area slash kitchen, with an expandable table and sofa bed. This all leads out to a shaded ground level patio which was a few convenient steps away from the communal swimming pool. Both the patio and the kitchen area easily accommodated nine people (we combined furniture from the two apartments from time to time). The kitchen has all the amenities one could possibly need for self catering, including an American size fridge, dishwasher, coffee maker, stove, microwave and all the dishes and cookware needed to prepare any meal. There's also access to a shared bbq which we used three or four times over two weeks. The decor was light and bright, classy and also casual in the way that works perfectly in a warm climate like this. The pool is medium sized and ideal for splashing about with our young children, with both sunshine and shade during daylight hours. The grounds are very green and well kept with a wide variety of beautiful plant life in all directions, and perhaps some of the most beautiful beaches in the world are a short walk away-- less than five minutes. The bedrooms and main living space have air conditioning units that could cool things down if the temperature got too clammy. Shineth, the resort's caretaker, was there to greet you with a smile each morning with coffee and muffins by the pool, and also seemed to have a sixth sense of when you were not around to give the rooms a daily clean. A small irk would be that the tv reception was quite fuzzy-- the kids needed a bit of a dose from time to time, but didn't really seem to mind too much. We had a very magical vacation there, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!

Room Tip: I would recommend a ground level apartment as this give you convenient access to the pool area.

We wanted a 1 bedroom apartment type accommodation with kitchen facilities - and Trade Winds turned out to be perfect! We stayed here with our toddler for 6 days in April 2013. The place was very clean (we saw the maids cleaning the condo everyday and kept it spotless), new beach towels were provided everyday.... Its only few minutes walk to the grace bay beach, stores, restaurants, car rental and every thing you need in grace bay. Kitchen had all the utensils and tools you need and the condo had washer/dryer as well (which is great for a beach vacation).
We were lucky to get the top floor condo and the view was amazing - with continuous breeze all through the day. The staff was great, very helpful with suggestions and calling up places... We arrived very late at night and the staff had the keys, rooms all ready for us.
Overall a great place to stay!!

We stayed here just after Christmas and although the names has changed a few times, we can't complain about staying here. It is in a perfect location near the main strip, restaurants and 2 mins. walk from the beach. Because it is no on the beach, the price is more reasonable compared to beach front hotels. It is very clean, spacious and has a great pool. We couldn't get enough of Gracebay beach and spent most of our days lazing on the beach. The units are renovated and comfortable. What is confusing is there are signs saying this place is in foreclosure but once you are in and comfortable you realize it is fully functioning. Not sure why those signs are still up?
