“Finally a restaurant that has island charm!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2013

Went there for lunch, the owner picked us up at our hotel and took us back. Food was very good, location is right on the water but away from the tourist areas. For the first time in almost a week we finally felt like we were on an island. The owner seems like a great guy, works hard and really cares. Waitress was terrific. We had lobster salad and grilled grouper sandwiches, both were delicious.

“Our all time favourite”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

My family and I (5 people) just ended our 7 night vacation in beautiful Turks and Caicos with plans to definitely come again. We came to the island to experience the local culture and of course the food and boy was it an experience!! Sailing Paradise can easliy be found on the map or when you are in Blue Hills just look for a colourful cluster of buildings right next to the ocean.

The food at sailing paradise was so good that after going fior lunch we just had to go for dinner. It was easy too because of their complimentary shuttle. The food is to die for! My family basically had a little of everything on the menu but the seafood platter was our favourite. Everbody was pleased especially my kids who are fussy eaters (they should be the ones writing this, because if they are pleased anybody can be pleased!!).

It seems to be a very popular local restaurant because Saturday night was extremely busy which we understood, but the waiter made us feel welcomed and kept checking in on us to update us on the meal. I am a bit shocked at the other comments because having used the shuttle servicve on two occassions we didnt experience any sort of dishonesty, much less a long wait when we finished our meal, since other guests were streaming in constantly being picked up and dropped off by the shuttle. My only recommendation would be to get a bigger shuttle which Im sure is in the works since the restaurant is very popular now.

All in all I give this restaurant a 9 out of 10 and they only lost a point because nothing is perfect!

P.S Can the Chef email me his recipes or his secrets, I would love to learn to cook like that!!!

“Good "local flavor" but not worthy of top 5 spot on Tripadvisor & did not have a good experience”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2013

Let's not confuse the place with a local establishment. It has the allure on an "off the beaten path" tourist destination, and it works for the most part. Yes, it's a good change of pace. Yes, it's a cool, rustic ocean front place. And, the food is good and cheaper.

We were a party of 9 and had good food but our experience left us a bit frustrated. It might have been better had the waitress not forgotten one person's plate, had we not had to wait all over again for the forgotten plate long after others finished eating and had they accepted credit cards. After getting a ride back on the shuttle, I ran up to the room to get the driver a $100 bill to cover the balance and tip, including a tip for him. But we later received a call from the restaurant inquiring about the missing balance...unsettling to say the least.

The free shuttle is a good incentive but be aware that it may not be handy when you finish your meal (oh, and the driver might keep any cash you need to send back to cover the bill....). I'm sure if your party is small (ie two), you are likely to have a good experience. But I can't recommend it after our experience. We won't go back.

“Yikes!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2013

They offered transportation to the restaurant so we accepted the offer since cab rides are ridiculously expensive on the island. He showed up with seating for 6. There were 10 of us which we told them ahead of time. We squeeze the kids in. Beautiful location. The food is really awful tho. The fish seemed as if it wasn't fresh or it had been frozen. The crab salad was like cat food. The vegetables were the frozen kind that kids get for school lunches. Seriously! It really was disappointing. 2 in our crowd did enjoy the fried platter. The rest of us are healthy eaters and were disappointed, The funny thing is that the driver on the way there offered us his car for good if we didn't enjoy our food. We should have taken his car.
