My girlfriends and I were on our way to Da Conch Shack for dinner (we'd heard so many great reviews) and upon arriving we noticed this place next door. Oddly this place was not on the maps we were given earlier in the week. There was a funny sign in the parking lot of Da Conch Shack pointing to Horse-Eyed Jacks that said "$4 beer, cheaper food." We thought it was funny and kind of rude, but unfortunately we learned it was right.

We were having our last dinner on the island at Da Conch Shack and were going to do apps., drinks, dinner, and dessert. Conch salad, and rum punch were delicious! The special Mahi was terrible, but the grouper dinner was delicious. Unfortunately 2 of us made the mistake of ordering Mahi. We asked if we could order something else since it was overly fishy tasting and rubbery. Unfortunately they couldn't do anything at the time so we finished everything but the Mahi which we each took a bite of. At the end of the meal they offered to take one of them off our bill. This was very nice, but at that point we didn't want dessert.

Once we paid our bill we walked to Horse-Eyed Jacks. The view is lovely, the place is extremely clean, menu is actually cheaper with some diverse options, and drinks were cheaper. The darn sign was right. We ordered drinks and dessert here and enjoyed everything so much we stayed for a few hours and watched the sunset. If we had known what we know now we would've had our entire dinner here.

Reasonably priced and good service. We had a lovely evening with good food. It's located next to Da Conch Shack with the same beautiful water views.

Thank cleem

We went with lower expectations based on some of the reviews but we gave it a try because our original choice of Sailing Paradise was out due to the fact that some seemingly possessed man across the street was yelling incoherent ramblings into a microphone. I hope this was just a Tuesday night occurrence because he is drawing business away from the Sailing Paradise and that's a shame. Back to this restaurant...the drinks were totally weak. Virtually no alcohol at all, so stick with beer. Although the prices seem very reasonable, they're actually comparable to every other place because everything is a la carte (no sides come with your order). I ordered a chicken sandwich and the bun was easily two times bigger than the chicken (i.e., the bun makes the sandwiches look deceptively big). My side of sautéed spinach (at $4) consisted of roughly 10 sautéed but unflavored spinach leaves. The pulled pork sandwich included slaw, which is fine, but not described on the menu (and my son didn't prefer that). The conch was OK. The mac and cheese lacked flavor. Although the restaurant was "busy" due to a wedding party hanging out there, the service was lacking. We had to go to the bar to order a second round of drinks when the servers appeared to standing around. The atmosphere on the water is nice. Tuesday night is music night and that was enjoyable. If you're willing to give it a shot, just go for dessert. There are much better places for food.

After reading the positive online reviews, we thought we'd skip the competition next door and give this newer restaurant a try. The setting was beautiful, but the wind that afternoon was fierce...almost suffered an eye injury due to a blowing menu. We were greeted by a friendly young waitress who rattled off the daily specials and easily answered our questions about items on the menu. Our party of four ordered: the Jerky Jerk Chicken-too many bones and not enough chicken and had more of a grilled flavor rather than jerk; a side of mac and cheese-rich and creamy, but we preferred the drier baked version done elsewhere; the Cluck 'n fingers-moist and coated in what appeared to be panko bread crumbs, which my daughter was not a fan of; the Crazy Grilled Chicken sand-good and served on a huge bun; and lastly, a blackened Mahi-Mahi sandwich with lettuce and tomato-not cooked in a true blackened way, as it tasted more Cajun, but a decent portion of fish for a sandwich. We gave them thumbs up for the fries, which were pretty darn tasty. We wish we could say the food wowed us as much as the surrounding scenery did while dining here.
