“Cracked Conch great”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

Tooling around the island on the northwest edge of Grace Bay taking the first right off of Millenium Highway, we came across two restaurants side-by-side: Da Conch Shack and Horse Eye Jack's. Da Conch Shack had more cars and people so we stopped there, but we saw tables waiting for food and those with food had it on paper plates. People were trying to keep their napkins and plates from blowing off their picnic tables sitting on the sand.

Next door, Horse-eye Jack's had a desk, high tables, nice bar area, and heavier table items. Same basic food selections and drinks. We had excellent cracked conch. It wasn't overly-breaded like many places and it reminded us of large clam strips without the chewiness. We also tried their mac-n-cheese that had a zip with pepper. Tasty.

They have different events and specials too numerous to mention here. However, one of note was Tuesday night's all you can eat spaghetti that benefits a local charity.

“Casual food, drinks, & view---all excellent!”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

We had been here on other trips, but this was the first time we had lunch. The fish and chips were really good---freshly made, hot, and tasty. Along with some good rum drinks and a stunning view. Very friendly service added to our experience.

Definitely put this on your list when you vacation in TCI.

“Very reasonable food prices”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

The prices here are very reasonable and that is really a find on this island! I had broasted chicken - 4 breasts for $8 and they were super good! The cole slaw was very good, also. And they had a band the night we were there that was EXCELLENT! It's very casual and right on the water. Very fun!

“Mixed bag”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

We visited here to get a feel for the north west of the island and nearly missed it due to small sign! Luckily the HUGE road bumps mean you can't be travelling very fast on this road. Husband had a fabulous blackened mahi mahi but it was disappointing that this came with no sides. I ordered fish and chips and they were inedible. Had been cooked before the oil was up to temperature and were greasy. Chips were hollow inside and burnt outside. If they can't even get the basics right, what kind of a restaurant is this? And there were only 10 of us in the restaurant that lunch time so it can't be blamed on the kitchen being busy. The staff didn't care that my food was returned half eaten and just tried to sell us a conch shell/encourage us to come back for the band later in the week. Am mixed about recommending this to others.

“Sweet tiki spot away from the masses”
Reviewed March 17, 2013 via mobile

Stumbled onto this fine establishment on a rare cloudy/rainy day on my last visit to the turks. Its away from the main tourist areas, came upon it quite by chance just driving around. The atmosphere is everything you dream a tiki bar should be..a giant open air rotunda style tiki bar nestled in flora and fawna with an adjacent shaded giant deck with a dozen stairs to put you directly on the beach it overlooks. Cannot be beat. The menu includes a broasted chicken that was just terrific, try it! Like fried, very crunchy without frying it. That and a side if fresh sauteed spinach made a wonderful lunch. The owner is from chicago and brought a special device from home to cook it in, never had anything like it. Speaking of which, she was present and overseeing the operation, which i appreciate a lot. Nice lady, and you can tell she knows how to run a tight ship. That always keeps the quality high. Drinks were pricy but WELL worth it - good quality and drinks out on the islands are always pricy. Fun place to spend the afternoon. Only true complaint was they were out of the souvenier signature tshirts and hats. I really wanted a hat or tshirt because the logo was a great one. We enjoyed our rainy afternoon so much we went back again when it was sunny 2 days later and spent a day swimming, snacking and lounging. Worth the drive, check it out. Hope to visit again on my next trip to the turks.
