“Quiet, relaxing, unspoiled piece of heaven”
Reviewed February 6, 2006

We just returned from four nights at the Sibonne and had a wonderful time. It was just the break we needed from the New York winter. The hotel is not luxurious, but the rooms are very comfortable, clean, and had everything we wanted - telephone, TV, hairdryer, ironing board, coffee maker. The best part is that it is right on the beach. Even in a courtyard garden room, you can see the sea from your patio. The beach is amazing, the sea is gorgeous. The gardens are lovely, very well looked after and mature with great shrubs and flowers. The Bay Bistro at the Sibonne is extremely good for dinner, when the real chef comes in, and it's reasonably priced. Junior the bartender is a super nice guy. The breakfast is not great, lunch is OK. The best things about daytime dining is the classic Caribbean view from the outdoor dining deck. We went next door to Hemingways at the Sands for breakfast and lunch and the food and service was very good for both, with a big deck right on the beach. We saw Jo-Jo the dolphin the day we left. The staff at the Sibonne front desk are very off-hand and not that helpful. This seems to be in the nature of most of the islanders. It didn't bother us because all we wanted to do was crash on the beach and read and sleep. But if you want hand-holding and help on your vacation, you would want to stay in a more upmarket resort. The Sibonne is definitely for people who just want to relax, and it suited us perfectly. We would go back.

just got back from staying at Sibonne. Beat value for a hotel on the beach considering how how prices everything is. Breakfast Continential is included: oj, coffee, 2 pieces of toast and 1/4 bananna or one piece of orange. Additional breakfast items can be purchased. Food is expensive b/c it comes from Miami, Fl. There is no additional refills on beverages. Iceteas and sodas are 2.50. However, you can go next door to the Sands and they have a convienent store- beware prices are $. You can buy sodas for 1.00 individual beers are 3.00-5.00 a piece ( even coors light). Parents with children bring ample diapers , lotion and floaties. Diapers are at a premium ( 2 diapers for 3.50) Dining at Sibonne for lunch and breakfast reasonable. Dinner for 2 about 150. Turks and Caicos has fine dining atg dinner so be prepared. However you can go next door to the Sands and there is a restaurant called Hemingways and they serve lunch until 6P, Great food and prices ( like America. ) We stayed at Siboone but used the facilities at Sands and spent my money at Sands ( lunches and dinners and drinks). The Sands also has free internet at their Hospitality lounge , whereas Sibonne charges- i beieve 30 cents to 60 cents a minute,. There are 2 internet cafes around town. One at the Port of Call and the other at Salt Mills. Plan on not calling the states. I called for 3 minutes and paid 8.00. The hospitality personnel at the front desk could be nicer at Am Shift, Seemed groushy. Didnt seem to want to offer suggestions- like pulling teeth for advice. If you want to do your own laundry they wont let you. Their housekeeping stagg do it and charge you. Overall, if I did it again, I would stay at the Sands. The restaurant personnel at Sibonne very nice and fun. Everything you need is at the Sands- bus tokes, internet, restaurant, conveniece stores.

The best gift shop shopping is at Mama's at the Port of call- walking distance or you can purchase a bus service pass from the Sands for the Geko Bus. 11.00 all day for an indiviual or 4.00 per stop. the bus service starts at 10a-10p.
