Some reviewers on tripadvisor just expect too much. If I can get a clean room at a decent price on a gorgeous beach with fabulous restaurants and bars within walking distance, I am a happy camper. OK, so there are a couple of employees that aren't the friendliest people. But for each one of them there are three more who are lovely and helpful. Junior, the bartender at the Bay Bistro, is a mixology master, and very friendly. The host of the restaurant is also wonderful, as were many of the servers. There is one complaint I had about the room, and that is the musty smell. It is the Caribbean, though, and it is humid. The hotel is tiled though, so there is no moldy, stinky carpet to worry about. I'm not sure where the musty smell comes from but it goes away very quickly when you air the room out. If it weren't for this, I would not hesitate to give this place 5 stars. Also, it shouldn't be surprising that some of the employees are less than enthusiastic. Look around. See how they live. It's hard to make ends meet on this island, It's beautiful but hard at the same time. Cut them some slack.

Room Tip: I think I saw one room that did not have an ocean view from the patio.

We recently got back from a week long trip to Provo (Mar 18-25 2013). We stayed at Sibonne and really enjoyed ourselves (except for me getting sick - more on that later).

We booked Sibonne largely because of its excellent on-the-beach location for a reasonable price.

Provo is VERY expensive and Sibonne is definitely the best deal you will get to stay right on the beach at Grace Bay. It is located in the area between The Sands and The Alexandra. You can easily walk to the other resorts in the The Bight-Grace Bay area and to the restaurants. The Grace Bay IGA is also within walking distance.

Room: Kept very clean and well-supplied by our excellent and friendly maid. The rooms are basic and could use some renos and freshening but everything worked fine - which is all we care about. Shower only, mini-fridge, coffee maker, new flat screen TV with basic cable. Our room was on the ground floor - so we had a small patio with two chairs and a small table.

Grounds: the garden is mature and lovely. The pool is small - just suitable for a quick plunge

The Beach - superb. my husband walked the enire length of Grace Bay in both directions and he felt that Sibonne had by far the nicest stretch of beach in front of it. I do water walks (long walks IN the ocean and the water in front of Sibonne was the clearest and calmest that I encountered. Occasionally one gets a few bits of turtle grass near the shore when the water has been churned up but this is nothing. Sibonne supples beach loungers (they could use more new ones), palapas and beach umbrellas on the beach. We never had any difficulty getting loungers or an umbrella/palapa.

Front Desk:
Very helpful and pleasant to deal with. When I became sick they were really good and caring - They called the clinic to make sure that I could be seen right away and called a taxi for us. And afterwards I was always asked how I was feeling.

Other Things:
There is water with lemon available in a cooler jug type thingy beside the computer in the lobby - it is definitely tastier than the tap water. There is a computer (but no printer) available for guest use (free) in the lobby. The TV has a channel that gives arrivals and departures for the Provo airport. Beach towels are obtained at the Front Desk.

Bay Bistro: this is the restaurant located at Sibonne and it is the restaurant closest to the beach on Grace Bay. The setting is lovely and inviting. The food is very good but dinner is very expensive (as it is at just about all Provo restaurants). We had breakfast there every morning and one evening when we were not very hungry we had two of their bar menu items for early dinner. We also had the homemade coconut ice cream (expensive but absolutely delicious) - one of the best ice cream experiences I have ever had. Bay Bistro is very popular for dinner - so I recommend reservations if you want to have dinner there. No problem at lunch or breakfast.

Overall I would not hesitate to return to Sibonne. It is clean friendly budget accommodation in a superb setting - something VERY rare on Provo.

Room Tip: The rooms closest to the bar can hear some music when they have entertanment at night - so if you a...

A great budget option! We booked the Sibonne at the reco of the dive shop we used, as the emphasis of our trip was scuba diving.

While this lacks some of the fancy amenities, rooms are basic and clean. The well-manicured gardens provided a lush environment, and we loved stargazing in the hammocks every evening.

The staff seemed ambivalent and did not go out of their way to accommodate our basic requests, but the service was satisfactory.

Bay Bistro (on the property) has a great atmosphere and menu. Sibonne is located on a great part of beach within walking distance to other resorts, which facilitates checking out the other restaurants and bars.

I would definitely reco Sibonne to those looking to enjoy the beauty of TCI for a reasonable price!

Recently returned from our first trip to TCI and found the Sibonne to fit our needs perfectly! It is a small, quaint hotel that sits just a few steps away from beautiful Grace Bay beach. There are only about 28 rooms (14 on garden level, 14 2nd story) in a "U" shape surrounding a very well maintained/manicured garden area, and an apartment right on the beach. We found the staff to be very friendly and cordial, and helpful when asked of something. Dominica at the front desk was always smiling; one of our housekeepers, Julia, was very attentive. Kudos to all the staff there, even though we didn't get your names!

The room was just fine for us; enough area for the bed, a couple of sitting chairs and still have space for our items, luggage and walking around. Didn't feel crowded at all. We stayed in both 203 and then 202 (had to move d/t a booking request for 203) - didn't bother us a bit. The front desk notified us promptly at check-in. To note, these two rooms also have a sitting area attached (12'x12' maybe) with a futon, chairs, TV, desk/dresser - we didn't use much, as only the two of us and we spent most of our time on the balcony when in the room. Although these two rooms probably have the best direct view of the ocean, it can get quite "warm" on the balcony in the afternoon. All the rooms have their own unique features depending on the time of day. The beds were very comfortable and our room was cleaned very well each day. The water was very "soft." The room has a small "dorm" sized refrigerator and a small 4 cup coffee maker. You do get 1 packaged coffee per day, so if you are a coffee drinker, you may want to bring your own (with filters) or purchase there. The refrigerator door will hold smaller (liter size) bottles of juice, while you can stock 12 oz water bottles, a package or two of lunchmeat/cheese in the rest. (We purchased a case of water at the store and just kept stocking the refrigerator as we removed.) I also took a couple of quart sized freezer bags to keep ice in the freezer compartment for future use (an ice bucket is provided and you get your ice from the bar, but it melts quite fast).

The hotel is located fairly well to many things that you can walk to - assuming you are able to walk and enjoy doing it. There are a few good restaurants up and down the beach (10-25 minutes), but we feel one of the best restaurants we went to was right at the hotel - the Bay Bistro. Had several different meals there - breakfast, lunch/appetizers, and dinner. The shopping areas maybe about a mile away, which includes the Graceway Gourmet store. Snorkeling at the Bight Reef (in front of Coral Gardens) is also about a mile away walking the beach. Although we did A LOT of walking (who needs a fitness center?), we did rent a car from Grace Bay Rentals for the week we were there as we did not want to be tied down to just the Grace Bay area (by the way, we drove all over the island - felt very safe and it's easy to maneuver around!).

We had no problem finding a "spot" on our beach the times we did spend there, and the beach area was always clean. There are wooden or cloth umbrellas to provide shade; some may be a little worn, but they suited their purpose quite well. The pool is small, but we hardly saw anyone using it. There is a small sitting area between the garden area/pool/restaurant, each table having an umbrella to help with the afternoon sun. We also had no problem with our "balcony" neighbors.

If you're a down-to-earth, self-sufficient type person looking for a peaceful, relaxing vacation and not into being pampered and waited on hand-and-foot, this is the place to go! With that all said, we would return to TCI and stay at the Sibonne!

This is the hotel where you can go barefoot all day around! The beautiful and mesmerizing Grace Bay beach is just few steps away. The room we have got is room 215 which is on the second storey which is very clean, it has a shower cubicle but no bathtub, with a balcony that has a partial view of the beach. Throughout our vacation, we just grab beach towels from the front desk and off we go to the beach basking in the sun with nice, clear seawater to soak ourselves in.

Bay Bistro, a restaurant just next to the hotel serves really fabulous dishes and we had a great time there! For car rental, Grace Bay car rental did a very good job and great services! Just give them a call and they will set a date and time to deliver the car that you want to the hotel. The shopping area and supermarkets are around 10 to 15 minutes walk away. You can even choose to walk along the beach and enter to the shopping area!

Just got back from our 8th trip to Sibonne........people ask, "why do you keep going back to the same place"?.........it's now like trying to explain why you go home when your heart wants peace and quiet, you want great food, your own comfy bed, and your best friends around you.........
Greg and I pulled up in the van when we arrived, and our dear friend Winchlin was out front calling to us "welcome home!". Everyone on the staff was happy to see us......the same three couples who come every year were all arriving.........the managers Ken and Sandra were just as thrilled to see us, as were the two little resident kitties who live there (yep, we all pack cat treats to bring).........this is NOT an all inclusive, kiss your butt, chocolates on the pillow kind of place........it's our home away from home, and we just adore it...The sun, sand and love we receive every time we go, warms our hearts and spirit. So when I get back to the states, I can make it until it warms up north, have our attitudes adjusted, and can begin our plan to return the following year.........Marie, who handles the state side booking is absolutely wonderful to deal with, and is always there when you need her... I'm tearing up just writing this because I truly wish I were there right now, where my heart is happy and my soul is replenished....
