Houses block the view at spots but still a very pretty drive and worth an hour or 2 to take pictures and enjoy the beauty. House r great too!

A must see in Chalk Sound is Sapodilla Bay. You have to look for the sign, it is very hard to miss. Small secluded and beautiful!!

We had lunch at Las Brisas (excellent food and view of the water) and then rented a kayak to paddle around the sound. The water is amazingly clear and blue. As the entire sound is shallow, we were able to get out of the boat and swim. The staff at Las Brisas helped us with directions to the iguana island and plane wreck site as well. Excellent way to enjoy a morning! (Recommend good sun protection and a morning visit to avoid the intense heat / sun later in the day.)

Clear, shallow sandy water that seems to go forever. Great for the kids to play in. The view is amazing. Next time, we're taking our snorkel gear to view the ship wreck there.

about 2 miles wide by 5 miles long, and never more than 3 feet deep (except for the black hole) this is a great place for a boat ride (pontoon boat from las brisas).can snorkel, but not many fish, although the plane wreck was interesting.
