“Perfect Trip”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

We had a awesome trip to Grace Bay Club!! The fact that it sits on the beach in Turks and Caicos is a great start, but the people and the property made it an awesome trip. We actually had a couple of days of overcast skies while there, but the attitude of the staff made up for the clouds. The personal concierge service was a great service. They gave us a small cell and we used it to call them directly for anything we needed. Their taking care of our dinner and excursion needs made the trip easy and our duo that took our calls had a great attitude the entire time no matter what we asked them. However, it was that same attitude of the overall staff that made the trip even that much better. Always positive and ready to help make your trip a success. Whether they were just greeting you as you passed by, helping set you up on the beach or serving lunch, it was a smile and nice comment about your stay that helped create a very relaxing environment. We can't wait to return!

Room Tip: The hotel has no elevator and is adults only, but the third floor rooms have a great view of the bea...

My wife and I traveled to Turks and Caicos for our anniversary. We had a number of friends go to T&C and love the island(s). We were deciding between Grace Bay Club (GBC) and Parrot Cay. Based on friends recommendations we booked GBC. The staff was always friendly and the beach was beautiful. However, on the last night of our stay a number of things happened which ruined our entire trip. First our bill had a number of incorrect (expensive charges) that we did not incur and were difficult to get removed. Go through your bill carefully if you stay here. Next and more important was my brand new iPad was stolen out of our room. Security was called and from the door reading they determined that only 2 people entered our room - our personal concierge and cleaning. Over the next 16 hours before we left, I attempted several times to find out the status of their investigation and my iPad and received the run around. Finally, after not hearing ANYTHING for 3 days, I sent an e-mail trying to get any information. I did receive 2 reply e-mails from 2 different people (the only communications from the hotel on the matter) which were very polite but basically said we did everything we could and found nothing - sorry. The lack of communication and lack of apparent concern regarding an employee theft directly from a guest room is very telling and concerning. The reply emails indicated that "this has never happened before" which I find hard to believe and even more unbelievable since after this "terrible" "first time event" no one provided any follow up except 1 reply e-mail. For a resort that advertises their superior customer service, it was non-existent when it mattered. Based on the incident and more importantly how GBC reacted, we will not stay there again (nor will our friends who had multiple previous stays) and would not recommend GBC to people looking to stay in T&C.

Dear Guest,

As you know, we found your Ipad a few days after your departure from our resort and it was sent to you via courier right away.

I am sorry you felt it took a while for us to reply to you. When you brought it to our attention that your Ipad was missing, immediately you accused our housekeeper of stealing it. We wanted to make certain that we followed the proper due diligence particularly when a person’s livelihood is involved.

After following our internal investigative process, we found that two keys had been used to enter your room. We interviewed two employees both long term employees who had never been involved in any instances of this nature. Both employees denied removing any items from your room. We apologized to you and assured you that we would continue to search for your missing Ipad.

Following your departure, another guest checked into the same suite you had stayed in. Once they departed the resort, we decided to thoroughly check the suite, even though you had told us that you searched the entire room. We found your Ipad locked away in the safe of the room, where most likely you forgot you had placed it there. We immediately communicated with you and forwarded your Ipad to you via Federal Express right away.

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience and the time it took to return the Ipad to you.

Warm regards,

Thierry Grandsire

Perhaps before the extansion from a 22 room exclusive club resort they were five stars.B ut since they have grown into a larger resort, they seem to be more a fiur than five star place.
Why? Here,s what is keeping it from being five stars...
Personal concierge service is touted. When I called mine, Vernon, on my first day no one answered. Ileft a massage for dinner reservations. They were not made.
Romm thermostat did not wok. Romm would keep cooling to 63degrees, called Vernon, not fixed.
Fisrt day to the beach we were told there were no more beach lounges and unbrellas.
Room safe in closet is at ankle level.
Coffe creamer was not refilled after first morning.
Last day,s breakfast took halh hour to get omlet order.
Desk misplaced keys for rented car that we left with them.

This is a nice resort. Spacious and well maintained.
However, the service is NOT at a five star level.
With all the newer five star resorts opening on Provo Grace bay club needs to step up their service or simpky fall into a solid four star category which they were for us.
As a relative comparison, we,ve stayed in th Caribbean at the following five star resorts.
Jumby bzy
Canuan resort
Cap Juluca
Ritz Carlton Rose hall

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to relay your thoughts on your recent visit at Grace Bay Club. Every guest’s experience is important to us as we strive for the finest in service and facilities. Unfortunately, during your stay, we apparently fell short of our goals and your expectations. For this I apologize.

We are terribly sorry for the service issues you experienced during your stay with us. There is absolutely no excuse for it and it is certainly not the Grace Bay Club standard. I can assure you that what you experienced was the exception and not the rule, as you can see in other Trip Advisor comments, we always strive for the best. Our service goals are to anticipate guests’ needs and to be responsive to those needs on a timely basis.

Regarding our personal concierge service, voicemail is checked by concierge for messages from guests throughout the day. Unfortunately during your stay with us, we experienced telephone service issues and voicemail messages were not being delivered. As soon as we became aware of it, we contacted our service provider who restored full service right away. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this caused.

Your comments have been forwarded to the appropriate managers and staff for review and action.

Thoughtful feedback is a gift and we thank you for your input. We do hope that you will return to Grace Bay Club at some time in the future.

Warm regards,

Enjoyed a wonderful week in Turks&Caicos at the Grace Bay Club to celebrate our 30th anniversary. It was our first time to the island and can't say enough good things about our visit! The staff, facilities, beach and dining at the Grace Bay Club were all outstanding, making us feel welcome and very well cared for. Already looking forward to our next visit!!

My husband and I just returned from a week at The Grace Bay Hotel. I read so many reviews prior to leaving and I have to say our experience far exceeded what we hoped for. From the moment we checked in and were greeted with cold towels and rum punch to the very last day we absolutely were treated like royalty. Our personal consierges, Jasmine and Franklin, were so attentive and helpful. There wasn't a thing we asked that they couldn't help us with. They made all our dinner reservations as well as the sunset cruise reservation. They upgraded our room to a beautiful suite because we mentioned we heard a banging noise early in the morning, no questions asked. I knew we were at the right place when we were sitting at the adult pool the second day and a quick but strong rainstorm blew in and we ran from the lounge chairs to the bar area not realizing my husband left his watch on the table next to the lounge. The next day one of the pool attendants, BEN, found us on the beach and returned the watch. Such a nice young man and all the staff were so helpful and friendly.
Complete breakfast everyday at the Grill, perfect setting near the ocean. Omlets to order and by the third day the staff knows your order but they ask anyway.
All the restaurants were great including Lemon Cafe, Coyaba, Parallel 23,Caicos Cafe, BeachHouse (watch out for Mosquitos), and our two favorites, Anacaona and Coco Bistro.
Bikes available on property to ride into the town and shop or just go exploring. Many of the restaurants are in walking distance to hotel otherwise you can cab it. Cabs are always available outside main lobby.
Beach is perhaps one of the most beautiful ones I have seen.Staff brings cold water and sorbet to you on the beach. Miles of white soft sand and turquoise water. If you cannot rest and relax here, you never will.
The staff at Grace Bay make you want to go back every year. Hope to return soon.

The staff are excellent, and very laid back, but if you need anything all you have to do is ask. The food in the main Restaurant, the Anacaona is top class. Highly recommend Grace Bay Club. It may not be cheap – but in this case, you get much more than you pay for, worth every penny.

My husband and I traveled to Turks and Caicos 20 years ago and were looking for an easy get away from Chicago. We had such fond memories that we decided to go back (four kids later). We were thrilled. The hotel has been updated to perfection, the villa rooms were very comfortable with all of the creature comforts possible, the staff is over the top, you will be assigned your very own personal concierge and cell phone to call him/her at will, but mostly the beach is to die for. The aqua hues will set you free. The day beds and the Caribbean's longest bar (so they say), make the outside setting amazing. A great trip. Cant wait to go back!

Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor walk out room. Ours was only 200 yards from the beach.
