“Beautiful hotel on a beautiful beach”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

We stayed over new year. Great hotel, beautiful beach. Even tough the hotel was fully booked, it never felt crowded. Always plenty of space at pools and beach. Nice diner on beach.
Walking distance to shopping and restaurants.

This was my first trip to the Caribbean but I have traveled a lot to many different countries. This was BY FAR the best vacation I've ever had! We arrived (extremely exhausted from all of the wedding festivities) and were met in a nice cool lobby with fresh drinks at the ready. We were quickly taken to our gorgeous suite (we stayed in the adults only portion of the resort), complete with seperate living area, spacious bedroom and huge bathroom, wet bar, mini fridge, washer/dryer, beautiful balcony, etc. after a tour of the property by our wonderful concierge. As we were getting settled, our concierge was already making dinner suggestions/reservations for us.

The beach and everything you need for total relaxation is right at your fingertips. ALL of the staff were AMAZING! They were readily available on the beach with fresh drinks and food, by the pool, and everywhere. We had a cell phone with a direct line to our 2 concierges for any questions, dinner reservations, or trip bookings. Bikes at the resort were available for relaxing jaunts into the town and cabs are not necessary for most trips off the resort. Cab prices are quite expensive though so I would recommend bike riding and walking when you can!

The food was TO-DIE-FOR and quite the culinary experience if you are a foodie like me. Even my husband (who is allergic to seafood) loved the food. Everything is fresh, fresh, FRESH! However, we were not prepared for the high prices of the food. Wow...it was expensive. But we didn't have a bad meal the entire time we were there, on or off the resort. The concierges are excellent at recommending great restaurants! Coco Cabana was definitely our fave! The laid back, romantic, jungle type atmosphere, paired with awesome food...you can't beat it.

For a great little excursion... Don't pass up the Island Vibes snorkeling trip. I was very hesitant because I simply wanted to relax and the boat always looked a little raucous when it came back to shore every afternoon. But I am SO GLAD I WENT! It was 4 hours of fun! The captain and his mate were hilarious and made everyone feel at ease. Everyone from the slightly elderly to kids had a great time snorkeling, exploring Iguana Island, eating conch salad, jumping off the boat, etc.

This is a very relaxing vacation for couples or families of any ages. Compared to the other resorts we saw, visited, and passed by, Grace Bay Club was certainly the best. We had no complaints and can't wait to return!

Room Tip: If you are going sans children, choose the adults only "hotel" portion. All of the rooms a...

We just returned from a four day get away to The Grace Bay Club, and it really did the trick. This is a place to go for quiet and relaxation as a couple, or as a good family location (the soft sandy beach is a kid's dream, although for southerners used to warm ocean water be aware that Turks' water is a tad cooler). This is not a place for people wanting to party hardy.

The Grace Bay Club is an elegant hotel very much focussed on pampering its guests with small touches like bottled water delivered pool or beach-side, mid-morning watermelon-grapefruit sorbet likewise. The resort is divided into sections (an adults only section "The Hotel", a family section, and lots of condos some of which are rentals) but despite the sectioning, the resort does not feel segregated. You see children at the restaurants and on the beach, but not at the adult-only pool (the kids pool is far enough away from the adult pool that you don't even hear noises), so it's the best of both worlds. This would be ideal for grandparents travelling with family, if you want to see the kids by day or at meals, but also have the option to retreat on your own as well.

The Grace Bay Club has one of the largest stretches of beach of any of the hotels, so there is plenty of room for beach-side lounging, without being stacked several deep like at some hotels. The pool/ beach staff set up chairs and umbrellas for you if you even set one foot on the beach, they were very very accomodating and attentive.

The Hotel unit where we stayed (A101) was an ocean front suite. It was pleasant and exceptionally quiet: you really didn't hear a sound from neighbouring units beside or above (and the Hotel was fully booked when we were there). Our suite was a large first floor unit, with a slightly odd configuration (it was long and narrow, with far too much space devoted to the bathroom, yet too few hooks to hang up both bathrobes and towels, unless you used the closet). The bedroom was at the rear of the unit, away from the pool so it was quiet, but as a result had no view at all, so be aware of that if your version of "Ocean front suite" means you want to see the ocean from all rooms including the bedroom. Also slightly odd was the fact that the only closet in the suite was inside the bathroom rather than in the hallway or bedroom, but these are small issues). The suite was spacious, well appointed and kept meticulously clean. There was a nice patio with lounge chairs outside sliding doors next to the pool. The exterior/ landscaping was configured in such a way that there was no "walk by" traffic so we had privacy despite being on the ground floor. (For people with accessibility issues, note that there are a few low steps (maybe four) on the way to the room despite it being on the ground floor, but there is a wheel chair ramp beside the steps, and there are railings).

The Hotel provides dedicated concierge service, which was useful for making hotel reservations and would have been useful had we needed any other help (they provide you with a cell phone with direct calling access to your own dedicated concierge). There is a well equipped indoor gym, and a spa, but we didn't try either of those. (DVDS, games, books, bikes, water equipment (long boards, Hobie Cat sailboats, sea kayaks), and tennis equipment are all available at no extra charge.

The on-site restaurant, Anacaona (spelling?) was sublime, and the daily provided breakfast was plentiful with lots of options (but might be repetitive for a longer vacation). Another great restaurant was Coyaba, easy walking distance (3 minutes) from the hotel. Caicos Cafe, on the other hand, also walking distance from the hotel, was very sub-standard, at best, just ok. (We've been to Provo twice before, and regretted on this short vacation that we "wasted" a dinner on Caicos Cafe as there are so many other great restaurants in the area, like Coco Bistro).

In all, quiet, restful, pampering. Great.

Room Tip: If you want maximum quiet, ask for a room away from the part of the hotel (the Villa) that allows ch...

It was our first trip to Turks & Caicos and to the Grace Bay Club. We hope will have many future visits. The hotel was wonderful in so many ways. It was spotlessly maintained and very efficiently run. The restaurants were excellent as were special nights such as "Caribbean barbecue on the beach." My wife and I were on canes and the staff could not have been more accommodating. People appeared out of nowhere to help my wife negotiate the stairs to the beach, to open doors, to get her a plate of her favorite breakfast items at the breakfast buffet. Our concierges, Julio and Berg, were always attentive and suggesting activities and restaurants on and off the premises.

Like many people on Trip Advisor, we studiously researched where to stay for the family, winter-break vacation. At first, we booked The Veranda. It would have been our second stay at this all-inclusive resort following one of the best vacations ever. When news broke Beaches purchased Veranda we promptly cancelled our reservation concerned the experience would not be as satisfying. As it turned out we needed to find a different resort anyway because Beaches closed Veranda for renovations. This is when we turned to the Grace Bay Club.

It was a great decision. Our family was seeking a luxurious resort that offered a nice room, a beautiful beach, a lot of amenities, great food, and a pleasant staff. GBC delivered on all points. It was a "no hassle" vacation made so because of the professional quality of every Grace Bay employee we met. Our concierge was Berg who made an effort to check on us every morning at breakfast to learn if we needed anything. He quickly fulfilled our requests.
Pauline mixed drinks for us at the pool bar and made us feel as if we were regular guests. Garth made us feel welcome at Stix and pointed out the best things to order at this neat pop up restaurant.

The point is a great family resort earns its reputation by providing the best customer service. Grace Bay Club gets a big thumbs up for a high-end family vacation.

Room Tip: Villas - third floor and above for unobstructed views of the beach.

Just spent a week at the Grace Bay Club with my family of four (kids age 12 and 14). We had a two bedroom condo in the Villa section overlooking the family pool. These accommodations were among the best set up we have ever had. Spacious, comfy, private bedrooms, lovely master bathroom, and a huge lanai with lounge chairs that were great to sit and read while looking out over the pool and then the bay. The beach is spectacular. Turquoise water, white soft sand and not crowded despite the fact that there are many resorts on this strip of Grace Bay.
Our concierge was Vernon who was always patient and helpful. I wish I still had the little cell phone at home to call the concierge with my questions or reservation needs! We used the adult pool because my kids were old enough and this was a huge treat. That pool is warm and so pretty. and despite the fact that it was President's Week and presumably a high traffic period, the hotel felt empty. We never had any trouble getting a lounge or a cabana and the pool/beach guys were extremely helpful with towels, water, setting up water sports, etc.
Really no negatives except that every morning at 6:30 the kids in the condo above us ran around on the ceiling and woke us up and we got a little tired of the variety at the included breakfast buffet.
But truly a great trip and a special hotel.

Room Tip: As for a room on the top level so you don't have neighbors waking you up from above!
