The water was rough for a number of days on our most recent trip and so we went to the beach at Sapodilla Bay one day instead. Gorgeous, barely a ripple in the water. So shallow and great for kids. Amazing sunset too!

After finally finding this hard to get to beach 20 mins was all we stayed. The water is very shallow and when we were there at opening of lobster season you waded through half carcases of the daily catch. I don't know if it was by chance or a regular daily occurrence but a tour boat with music blasting also ruined this scenic local. I much prefer Long Beach, have been there several times, it is not built up yet and you feel like you have the beach to yourselves. The water on long beach is maybe 4-5ft deep for probably 1/2 mile out.

It's worth stopping to take a very short hike up Sapodilla Hill to look at the marked stones as well as the view of the bay. You can also see the shipwreck to the right. The bay itself would be a good children's beach, as it's calm, clear water, soft sand, and shallow for a long way out. The beach is great, but don't miss the hill on your way out there.

We watched the sunset here one evening. Was so nice to just wade in the calm water and feel like it was my own private beach.

This is a place that if you don't pay attention you couldmiss this. We went past it a few times not seeing it. Then we found it. It's worth the time as it is so clean and uncrowded, unlike Grace Bay Beach.. You must bring food and drink as there isn't anywhere you can buy these items..
