“Best activity going on Sapodilla Bay! Don't miss Captain Bill!!!”
Reviewed August 31, 2012

We have known Captain Bill for years now. He is the most charming, funny, true Caribbean character imaginable! Every single time one of our guests asks about the sites and sounds of Provo, Best activity going on Sapodilla Bay! Don't miss Captain Bill!!!we tell them, don't miss Captain Bill. Whether you take his Ocean Outback cruise along the breathtaking shores of the south side of Provo or you rent one of his well maintained boats, you can count on some great fun. He cares about his guests and he takes great care of his equipment. (If you have children, they are in for an even better treat, since he really gets into the "pirate" spirit!) Every time we are on the water with Captain Bill, our daily cares are dismissed and we laugh! What a great time! Our most recent trip with Bill reminded me that I simply have to give him 5 stars! He really deserves them!

“100% enjoyable, informative and relaxing!!! GREAT time for the family!”
Reviewed August 11, 2012

Was not too sure what we were in for when we first booked this trip based on the local magazine ad - - but our fingers were crossed. When our scheduled day came - - along with clouds and rain, we were glad to hear that Captain Bill wanted to make adjustments so that all of his passengers would be able to maximize their experience. With Friday (today) came a sunny morning and our sail day.

After navigating our way to Sopadilla Bay, we walked out to the boat, through knee-deep water and climbed aboard. Our welcome by CPT. Bill and his small crew was warm, inviting, and just a taste of the day that we were in for.

We departed about 1015 and headed a short way before we saw our first Sea Turtle and a Ray. CPT. Bill was quick to respond and turn the boat around to ensure everyone had the chance to see these amazing creatures.

Underway again, we traveled a short distance to "Turtle Island" where we dropped anchor for almost all of us to do some snorkeling and check out the area.

While I was with my wife and two 19 year-old girls, it was their first time snorkeling - - and they LOVED it. There were also a few kids along with us on the cruise and CPT. Bill always kept safety first.

After checking out both sides of the island, we climbed aboard again and headed for the "Pirates Caves" where we receive a warm, informative, enlightening and fun education on the history of the area. CPT. Bill is truly proud of his history and the history of the area. He shared all with a great deal of passion and levity - - keeping it interesting and entertaining and not a classroom content.

The climbing required was not dangerous and even the kids along with us handled it all well, learned a bit, and had a great time.

Once on board again, we were treated to pre-lunch appetizers of Chips with Salsa and Crackers with his (CPT. Bill's Famous) fabulous curry dip. No, he would NOT share his recipe. Damn.

We then headed over to a northern point where we dropped anchor again and everyone headed for the water to swim, walk, and enjoy the solitude for a short while until lunch was ready. The BBQ chicken was awesome, the hot dogs were as good as you can expect for a dog, and the homemade coleslaw was terrific. The Rum Punch was the perfect complement to it all and the cold Turks Head beer was not too bad, either. Oh. Did I mention the coleslaw was terrific?

After everyone relaxed, ate, mixed, ate, took a breather, and ate, we went back into the water for more swim and snorkeling time before we headed for home. CPT. Bill didn't even make us wait half an hour after we ate before getting into the water. Oh, the coleslaw was TERRIFIC, too.

We then loaded up, headed back to port - - and ALL of us ended up taking a nap after this really fun day.

Having been here for 6 days, gasping at the restaurant prices, making shocking comparisons in the supermarkets, swimming and snorkeling in Grace Bay, and exploring the entire island of Provo - - THANK YOU CPT. Bill for showing us what Turks & Caicos is really about and giving each of us our best memory of this wonderful week here in Paradise.

Again, Thank You!

p.s. Try the coleslaw!

“Captain Bill was for sure a highlight of our trip.”
Reviewed August 7, 2012

Captain bills trip is like none other. This guy wont be happy until he knows everyone on his ship is safe...and leaves with a smile. Forget "rum punch". Cptn Bill had beer ...sodas....BBQ chicken (charcoal BBQ cooking while exploring the pirate cove and it was amazing!!!)......crackers...chips...salsa.....his secret currie dip.... He is a wealth of knowledge and obviously loves his work....his ship...and sharing his love of Provo with guests. I would very highly recommend ocean outback to anyone.

At each spot we stopped at Cptn BIll pointed out each " dark spot" that indicated coral/reef ....and told us what we may see at each....." there for puffer fish.. Then go over there to try and find the big lobster that hangs out there....if you have more energy...often angel fish swim around that bump over there". He knows the waters well.

He is so funny. At the end of the day I told captain Bill....."you delivered more than you promised"

He squinted.....looked me in the eye and said " I promised you nuthin"

He has a huge ship with the lower deck being shaded....upper deck great for walking around...lots of seating.. He reminds you he is known for being one of the "shadiest" guys on the water! Perfect ship on a hot day.

Thumbs up for ocean outback. Captain BIll runs a good tour and we for SURE were delivered more than we expected or promised. Highly recommended. I'd go back again.

“Great trip for kids!”
Reviewed July 28, 2012

We had such a great time with Captain Bill. We have a 5 yr old and an 8yr old and they had a blast! The snorkeling was good, pirate cave was great, and lunch was excellent!!!! This trip is a great trip for the price. The time at the private island was so much fun. Kids had fun in the water and hunting for shells. Captian Bill had some great history to share about the island. I would highly recommend this trip just make sure you bring some shoes that you can climb on rocks with....no flip flops or you may have to walk the plank! Fun,fun trip!

“Seasoned Caribbean Travelers Pick Cap'n Bill's Pirate Cave Tour”
Reviewed July 26, 2012

More than 30 years of visiting the Caribbean. Former divers, now snorkelers. This was simply a great day. Picked up on Sapodilla Beach, wade out to the boat. Snorkel Turtle Rock, some of the best in Provo. Tour of the Pirate Cave on Provo's SW tip. Climb through the cave, up a ladder, to the inscriptions and maps.(Bring diver shoes with good soles!) Short pirate show featuring campy sword play and slapstick; a delight for kids of all ages. On to seemingly miles of uninhabited white sand beaches and shallow sand bottoms for play and lunch, rum punch, and soft drinks. Then a run back to Sapodilla and a too-soon end. This is a terrific value.
