This is our second trip to TCI. We stayed at Ocean Club West the first time and wanted a quieter place this time around. We loved The West Bay Club. The location is perfect - situated on a beautiful stretch of beach, never crowded. We never had trouble finding a place to sit on the beach, or at the pool, any time of day. Try finding that at most other resorts. The rooms are as promised. We had a 1 bedroom luxury suite facing the ocean. Everything was beautifully appointed from the fully equipped kitchen to the huge bathroom. The bathroom sinks, while beautiful, are far from the mirrors (a minor inconvenience). The continental breakfast in the morning was a nice touch. We found the staff to be extremely helpful, but not pushy. The resort is clean, the towels are readily available, and it is not crowded or noisy. This is definitely the place to go if you want to relax in beautiful surroundings. This is not the place to go if you are looking for nightlife or lots of action.
We would recommend renting a car. We did it this time around and were able to see most of the island. There are many other areas well worth seeing, other than Grace Bay. Pelican Beach, Long Bay Beach and Chalk Sound are must see's. There are plenty of beaches that are completely secluded and easy to find by car. Roads are easy to navigate, although not well marked. There is a large grocery store close by, so we could stock up on food and cook some of our meals. Restaurants are expensive, and hard to get into without reservations, so we liked having this option.
Overall, we would highly recommend The West Bay Club and plan to stay there next time!

We just returned from a 2 weeks stay at WBC. What a beautiful property and excellent rooms/accomodation! We had a two bedroom luxury suite with fantastic morning beachfront views. We had a few glitches with the front desk staff (they seem unaware of the island's happenings) but management quickly addressed this and ensured the issue was resolved immediately. Kathy was the best person to ask for help. Otherwise, we made our own reservations/research. Breakfast was "continental" but sufficient. Antoinette ensured every guest was satisfied and went the extra mile to make everyone's day start off right. Her morning smile was contagious! Diner service was the other downfall but for a new resort, this is one of the "bumps" in the road. Limited items and they would benefit having a real chef and experienced/knowledgable staff. Room service and extended hours in the daytime would also be beneficial catering to families. There are plenty of amazing restaurants on the island including Coco Bistro (a must), The Vix (great new eurostyle), O'Soleil and our favorite, Grace's cottage. Evening bar was quite but relaxing. Henry (hard working and always ready to please) made THE best martini!
Beach is the best on Provo, hands down. Spacious chairs, outstanding beach services (Reno!!! thank you), water and watermelon served daily, nice white powder silica sand. This is our second stay in Provo and this location is by far much better than the busier "strip" of beach. Everything is within 10 minutes by taxi regardless where you are staying. Expect late diners (island caters diner after 6pm which can be tricky with small children, Coco bistro accomodated us at an ealier time) and most of the island has issues in the service industry as stated in previous reviews. This might be due to the minimum wage (almost criminal to pay this low) and long hours.. we tipped generously from teh beach staff to our room cleaner as they work very hard and results show on this pristine property.
Overall, great location, great value and an enjoyable stay. Highly recommended.

I have to take exception to the reviews that have complained about a lack of service or management at West Bay Club. Our experience at the property from start to finish was excellent. Roxana, the Director of Operations, was fantastic. I requested a beverage not usually stocked at the property bar to be available for our stay - it was waiting for me when we arrived. I asked for roses to be delivered to the room on Valentine's day and they were there, perfectly arranged and setup in front of the window when we arrived to the room. Roxana and Dane, the General Manager, were visible around the resort every day and night, interacting with the staff and guests. They were excellent hosts for our stay at this terrific property. Our experience with their staff was also very positive - everyone was friendly and helpful to us.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom luxury unit (#407). The finishes and furnishings in the room are excellent. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare a few meals for ourselves during the stay. The balcony is HUGE and we spent every morning and finished every night sitting on the comfortable chairs enjoying the view. The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom has excellent closet and dresser space. The master bathroom is large and well arranged.

Except for some clouds and cool temps on a couple of days during our stay (nothing the West Bay Club could have changed), it was an excellent stay. If you are looking for property to take a break and enjoy some down time, we absolutely recommend the West Bay Club for your stay in Provo. If you are wanting a "party" with a loud and active environment, go to Mexico... The West Bay Club is a great place to relax and enjoy island time.

The West Bay Club was as advertised and more. Clean and well appointed rooms. Our party was 2 couples looking for a kids free vacation and stayed in the 2-bdrm luxury. The staff was gracious and polite every day. The beach staff (chairs, umbrellas, bottled water, towels, etc was fantastic). The stay had everything we could have hoped for and more. The beach was wider here and very low key (no crowds and very quiet) than most other locations along Grace Bay. Based on our comparisons while visiting, no other location in Turks and Caicos offered any where near what The West Bay Club has to offer for the price. After extensive research, this was our first choice before coming to T&C and it will be our first choice when we return.

Provo in general does not have an extensive nightlife, so if you are looking for a party this is not the place for you. If you are looking for very relaxing days on a beautiful beach and great food, then this is a great choice. More upscale than most carribean islands, generally cleaner, and the locals do not pester you at all, in fact they were friendly and accomodating. Snorkling was average (wife did see a sea turtle and stingray at Smith Reef and we had a decent trip out to the French Cay). The Casablanca casino is OK, but not very big and lively. We went once but did not return. The Player's Club looked (from the outside) to be a better option, unfortunately it has been closed by the government indefinitely.

Read a few bad reviews for the West Bay Club, but none of us could figure out why? Either they stayed at a different place and posted here mistakenly or their expectations are wildly "out of whack".

We spent a week at West Bay Club with our 3 young children (ages 1, 4, and 7) and their grandmother. We rented a 3 bedroom luxury oceanfront unit, and I have to say that we were all completely blown away with our unit. It was gorgeous! The bedrooms were huge, each with its own luxurious ensuite, there was an additional powder room, two washer-dryers, two decks to sit and watch the ocean from, and a lovely kitchen and great entertaining/family space. It was enormous, tastefully decorated, very high-end and spotless. It truly exceeded our expectations. We had requested a crib and high-chair, and both were of high quality and already in the unit upon our arrival.
The pool was lovely, very clean, and though not huge, it was never crowded. There were always enough loungers and towels, and the pool was never very busy.
While we never ate at West Bay Club's restaurant for lunch or dinner, we did partake in the daily continental breakfast. It didn`t have the same ``wow factor`` as the rooms, but it did the trick. Croissants, muffins, apples, bananas, oranges, yogurt, bagels, toast, sausage patties, and made to order eggs were all on offer every morning, along with juice, tea and coffee. A bit more variety day to day would have been nice, but the service at breakfast was so lovely (especially Antoinette, a real gem!) that one could hardly complain.
One of our favorite things about WBC was its location. While it is true that it isn`t located within walking distance of tons of restaurants, it is located on what we thought was clearly a very beautiful stretch of beach. The beach is at its widest in around WBC, and this means that all the loungers and umbrellas have a certain amount of privacy. You are not sitting on top of or even close by other couples or families unless this is what you desire. Also, there are plenty of towels, beach toys, kayaks, a boogie board, lifejackets, etc... for guests to use at their leisure, meaning that all you need to bring to the beach is your sunscreen, sunglasses and book! Also, it is located only a short walk (less than 10 minutes) from one of the best snorkeling spots on Grace Bay (at Coral Gardens).
The West Bay Club is a small, quiet, condo-style resort with some key amenities. Daily housekeeping did a fantastic job and really cleaned our unit each day. Drinks by the pool (including delicious smoothies for the kids) were enjoyed by all. For our family, at least, it was the perfect cross between a condo and a resort, as you had the space and quiet of a condo but with added luxuries and amenities, making it a perfect place to unwind, rejuvenate and play!
While some recent posters have mentioned WBC`s poor management, we did not have this experience. In fact, when I went to bathe our 1 yr old on our first night and realized the tub was slippery without a non-slip bathmat, I went down to the front desk to ask if they had one. While the staff weren`t overly helpful (they didn`t have one, I was told), I emailed Roxana Underwood later that evening (she is one of the managers) to inquire if one was available. Needless to say, not only was one brought to my room first thing the next morning, but housekeeping also brought me a baby tub! I felt my concern was taken seriously by the management, and felt they addressed it promptly and courteously.
All in all, we just loved our stay at WBC, felt it was good value for the money, and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a low-key, quiet, upscale resort.

We just returned from 9 days at the West Bay Club and it was awesome. We have stayed at a lot of resorts on various islands and this was as nice or possibly the nicest. The staff was excellent and I can't think of anything we were missing. Full kitchen, washer/dryer, small appliances including a wine chiller. Although we didn't do a lot of cooking, we sure could have. The local grocery store is very modern and well stocked although I wouldn't try walking there. We didn't rent a car but the roads are in good shape compared to a lot of islands. While there is not a lot of sites to see, if you enjoy the water and the beach and just plain relaxing - this is it. Captain Shawn with Dream Tours ( I think) did an excellent job on our all day boat trip. Taxi service is fast and most are very pleasant & helpful. The food was great with a lot of places to choose from. The water and beaches are some of the most beautiful that you will find. The island is a little pricey but when you consider everything is delivered by boat because they do not make anything nor grow anything on the island (except excellent conch!) you get top quality food and emenities. One suggestion would be chair leg glides on patio chairs - they are noisey but also because they are top quality - not plastic. Thanks for the memories.

I am actually writing this review from the balcony of my room with the ocean right in front.
We are currently in Turks and Caicos at the West Bay Club and enjoying every minute of it. ( internet is included)
When booking a hotel in Provo I did lots of research and I think I am one of the pickiest people when it comes to hotel rooms. We were debating between Villa Renaissance and Seven Stars Resort and West Bay Club as all were priced in the same range. We ended up choosing West Bay Club as it seemed a smaller more intimate hotel and on a quieter part of the island.
We arrived after a long flight( delays in Toronto) and were greeted with a friendly smile and a welcome punch. The front desk was amazing and very friendly. They showed us to our room and what a room it was. We booked a one bedroom luxury and it was pure luxury. The room is approx 1400 sq feet with a beautiful kitchen, 2 bathrooms and more room then we could imagine.
We drove to the local grocery store which is only a few minutes a way and they had everything we needed to start our vacation and stayed in the first night as we wanted to enjoy the room.
The next morning we went for breakfast and the service was great. We have a 3 year old with a severe nut allergy and the server knew she had the allergy and went over each item with me available at breakfast. She even offered to let me see the ingredients in the items they use to cook with which made me feel so comfortable.
We spent the day and the pool and beach which are just a few steps away from each other.
In the afternoon we ordered drinks by the pool and my husband ordered a drink that they make differently here. The server noticed he wasn't drinking his drink and came around with a second complimentary drink for him as an apology. Again I don't think any of the larger hotels would do that.
We have been here 2 days and are loving it. We have another 3 days left and are so excited about them.
I wanted to write this review as i know when i was booking hotels in Turks I relied heavily on the reviews and it was what made me decide to choose West Bay Club. I can't understand why it got some bad reviews but hope you find this review really helpful

Dear Awesome Guest!

Thanks you for your lovely comments. We try very hard to make our guests feel welcome and comfortable. I wanted to let you know that although our local IGA is right up the street we at West Bay Club offer a Provisioning service to make your stay at the beach even better.

We can stock your refridgerator with all your favorite foods & beverages for a modest fee ensuring your wait time to get to our lovely beach is truly minimized.
Best regards,
Dane
