“AMAZING”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2009

My family and I recently returned from our week long vacation at the beautiful Regent Grand on Grace Bay. Prior to finalizing our plans, we debated if we should stay five or seven nights because it may be too slow-paced for a family with two teenagers. Upon arrival, we immediately confirmed we made the right decision. The resort is beautiful and inviting, the rooms are well-appointed with top of the line appliances, fixtures, televisions, etc. In addition to the resort amenities, the staff was friendly and accommodating.

My husband and son took advantage of the golf and my daughter and I enjoyed the spa. Again, everyone we encountered at the golf club and spa were friendly and accommodating. The spa is running summer specials with dollar a minute massages on Monday and Wednesday and a 30% discount off other spa treatments. We also utilized the fitness center --- small but well-equipped.

The beach is spectacular. We walked several miles each day on the beach and enjoyed the beautiful turquoise waters and soft sand. The beach around the Regent Grand is less populated than some of the other areas with the larger resorts.

The pool was also a favorite. The chairs and umbrellas around the pool were very inviting and the tile design of the pool is amazing.

It's evident --- much attention was given to the details when designing the Regent Grand.

The resort is convenient to restaurants, shopping and a grocery store. We enjoyed dining at Coco Bistro, Caicos Cafe, Mango Reef, Baci, Somewhere on the Beach and Hemingway's.

In summary, it was a fantastic week and we will not hesitate to return to Grace Bay and the Regent Grand.

We arrived at the Regent Grand the last week of June and the friendly and kind front desk staff provided us with cool towels and an iced cold glass of rum punch. We then proceeded on a guided tour of the property and took us to our condo unit.

When we opened the door right though the sliding glass doors we saw the most glorious view of the ocean with every color blue and green you can imagine. The living room was spacious and beautifully decorated, the dining room had a stunning glass and bamboo table and chairs and the fully equipped kitchen was more than expected. It had everything you could need to live there forever. The two bedrooms and baths were spacious and had the finest of linens and softest of towels. There was a flat panel television in both bedrooms and the living room with all of the cable channels you need. The unit was air conditioned and there was a ceiling fan in every room, as well as a washer and dryer.

We sat on the balcony and took in the view....magnificent. We decided to take a walk on the beach and it was everything we had hoped. The water was clear as far as you could see, the sand was pristine white and as soft as powered sugar and the water was warm to the touch. We walked for miles and hardly saw another person.

When we returned to the property, we took a swim in the amazing infinity pool. The water was refreshingly cool and the blue and gold colored tiles made you feel like royalty. The bar at the pool is open from 12:00 - 8:00 and serves complimentary chips and salsa and water whenever needed. The staff is on top of every need yet they never seem to be in the way. It truly doesn't get much better than that pool.

We took a taxi to the IGA grocery store and stocked the refrigerator with all of our favorite food and drinks. The hotel staff made dinner revervations for us every evening and we chose some wonderful restaurants including Iguana's, Coco Bistro's, Anacaona and Hemmingways and the Salt Mills Diner, all within walking distance or a 5 minute cab ride...really! We would recommend them all.

The only negative experience we had were some mosquitoes that come out after the sun sets.....speaking of sunsets we attached a picture because words cannot describe the beauty. Most restaurants are outdoors and face the west anf the ocean so every night you experience a more beautiful sunset than the night before. The weather was perfect except for one day that was mostly cloudy. It is hot but there is always a steady cool breeze. DO NOT FORGET YOUR SUNSCREEN!

As far as shopping, there are a few shops within walking distance. They recently completed a new shopping center and the merchants will be moving in soon. 2010 will be amazing for shopping.

The day we were leaving the staff provided a group hug and we shed a few tears. We made some wonderful friends and we hated to leave.

The bottom line is we will go back to the Regent Grand again and again. If you are looking for rest and relaxation this is the place for you. If you are looking for wild nightlife you may want to choose another property or maybe even another island.

A perfecrt 10 maybe an 11.

My sister and I needed a vacation alone after enduring a very stressful year involving cross country moves, new baby, and whining husbands. We picked TCI because Kelly Rippa raved about it on Oprah. We picked The Regent Grand because of the reviews on tripadvisor. We absolutely loved it!
Strengths:
1.Customer service, customer service, customer service. We loved Calvin. He was the first person we encountered upon arrival to the hotel. He gave us a tour of the property and our room. He arranged all of our excursions including sailing, horseback riding and a day at the spa. He made our reservations for dinner and arranged transportation everytime we left the hotel.
2.Rooms. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath fully stocked/furnished suite with an ocean view. It speaks for itself. 3 flat screen TVs, 6 seating dining room table, stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, pots/pans/utensils, full washer and dryer. The rooms are so nice you could easily have two couples share a suite or 4 friends or a full family.
The hotel was quite and very clean. Seemed good for singles and families.
3.Centrally located and car rental across the street.

Weakness:
No room service or restaurants.
