The Regent Grand was spectacular! My husband and I were celebrating our 30 year wedding anniversary and we could not have picked a nicer place. It was convenient to everything, restaurants, shopping and the most beautiful beaches! We did not want to come home. The staff was so friendly and more than willing to help you. We rode horses on the beach at Provo ponies and had the most wonderful experience. I would recommend this resort to anyone in a heart beat. Hope to return soon!

We spent three nights in a studio and were impressed with the room and service for this type of property (i.e. each unit is owned vs. a hotel). The 5th floor room was actually an extension of a larger unit on the floor, and to our satisfaction, we were not bothered by noise from the attached unit. The room was well appointed, with king bed, flat screen TV and a large bathroom, with a walk-in shower. In addition, there is a small refrigerator, sink, microwave and a safe. Wi-Fi service was excellent (both in-room and at the pool). While not an issue for us, there was not a true table and chairs to sit and eat. If you intend to cook and eat meals on–site, you may want to reserve a one bedroom.

The grounds were spotless and the pool was clean and inviting. We found the pool lounge chairs (Restoration Hardware) to be extremely comfortable. The umbrellas were easily adjustable depending on your preference, sun or no sun. The beach in front of the RG has ample room and we were not bothered by vendors. Also, there was never an issue obtaining a lounge chair at either the beach or at the pool.

Service exceeded our expectations. All staff were friendly and helpful and seemed eager to please. Jona, arranged taxi service from the ferry dock, and reserved a space for a spin class at the nearby Rock-it fitness. Breakfast at the nearby Vix restaurant was basic, yet good and the service was fine. The grocery store is within walking distance and is excellent. I would highly recommend this property and I am looking forward to a future stay.

Dear ExpatinVienna. We very much appreciate the time spent on this lengthy review. I think you got us down to a tee. Jona is a fantastic employee, The Regent Grand would not be the place it is without her. We look forward to welcoming you back again in the near future.

We've now visited The Regent Grand literally more times than we can count (6 since last April...) and considering that before we found it, we rarely visited the same place twice, that means something! The staff is always ALWAYS excellent. The beach is to die for, as is the pool. The location couldn't be better. Seriously, don't keep reading, just book your stay! And make a reservation for Caicos Cafe down the road while you're at it. You won't be sorry!

The first impression on the RG was solid. We were greated as our feet hit the ground by someone taking our bags out of the van, followed by a rum punch. We were quickly checked in and shown our enourmous 1 BR ocean view room. The room was very well appointed and nicely decorated. Full kitchen, large den, huge bathroom and super comfortable bed.
The pool was super cool as you can see in the pictures, and the grounds were always nicely kept. I can't say enough about how nice everyone one that worked there was, as well as the island folks. We rented a car (that was somehow smaller than a smart car), which I highly reccomend. Driving on the left takes a little getting used to, but is not that hard. You will go broke on cabs if you don't. The Vix resturant has the breakfast buffet, which is not enormous but very good. The dinner and drinks are also quite good.
Poolside bar was open from 11-7, though I honestly wanted a fruity drink at 9:00. This time of year is the slow season, but there were still a good many couples on property. I reccomend this resort over an all inclusive if you want a mostly quiet place to relax. There were some kids there, but it's not like the Beaches type aptmosphere.

Room Tip: Higher rooms have much better views, though it's hard to have a bad view of the ocean

We just came back from a 6 night stay at The Regent Grand. It is perfectly located right at the heart of Grace Bay -- about 2 miles on the beach to the Gansevoort and 2 miles to the Leeward / Coral House. Also, the resort sits within the Regent Village; a complex that includes the Vix (for the complimentary breakfast), other restaurants, stores, Teona Spa, and Villa Renaissance. It was very convenient to walk to dinner, ice cream, supermarket, and stores. Mostly everything was within a couple block walk. We stayed in a studio room with direct pool views. The room was spacious with a small kitchen but the bed was uncomfortable and we didn't get a good night sleep the whole time we were there (probably should have mentioned something to the staff while we were there though). The pool is great; we stopped by the Villa Renaissance and the pool at the Regent Grand was much nicer! The breakfast at the Vix was good -- scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, potatoes, bread, bagels, yogurt, whole fruit, and cereal. If you wanted to order any thing ala carte, there would be an extra charge. I just wished that there was more fruit options - berries or melons. Also, we took advantage of the free bike rentals one morning - a very nice feature, though our bikes could use an upgrade. The staff at Vix and the resort were always very nice and accommodating, however, there were some inconsistencies and communication issues at the resort --

-Credit for taxi to/from airport. We were told that the hotel could not pick us up at the airport and that we should take a taxi ($26 each way for 2 people). The hotel's website mentions a credit so I inquired before arrival and was told that there would be a credit. However, the credit wasn't on our bill and we had to ask again for it.
-Dinner reservations. Since it appears the concierge changes every couple of hours, there are some communication issues between the change in shifts. We found this when we were trying to change the dinner reservation we had at a restaurant that doesn't open until 3PM.
-Spa reservation. Again, we had an issue making the appointment and had to follow up twice. We were told that we should have received a voucher for $30 off a treatment in our rooms, but we didn't end up having it. We checked back with the concierge who said they would provide it when we left the appointments. When we left for the appointments, we checked again and the concierge said that we wouldn't need it and she would call over to the spa. Needless to the say, when we were about to pay at the spa, they had no idea what we were talking about. However, we did end up receiving the discount.
-Teona Spa lacks the frills - no sauna, robes, or couples room. It is quite small but very clean. My husband and I received swedish massages that were great, but the therapist never checked in to see if the pressure was okay or ask what we preferred. Also, there was loud knocking noises towards the end of our appointment and my therapist actually stopped to speak to someone outside of the room. Unfortunately, that ruined the last part of the massage.
-Water distribution. Upon check-in we received two bottles of water in the room, however, over the stay, there was inconsistencies with distribution of bottled water by the pool/beach. For an island where you're not supposed to drink the tap water, I would expect that a top notch resort would provide water more readily.
-Check-out process. We were a little disappointed by the check-out process at the resort. I would have expected the staff to contact us the night before to alert us what time we needed a taxi for (after all, they did ask us on our check-in form for our departure flight information) or to see if we needed help with our suitcases.

None of these issues are major since they ended up working themselves out, however, in my opinion this does make a difference between a 4-star and a 5-star resort. At a 5-star resort, I would expect flawless and consistent service. We've stayed at the Four Seasons in Maui, Rayavadee in Krabi, and other 5-star properties before and this didn't quite live up to the same expectations.

However, as mentioned this is a great property in an excellent location, just be aware that it may not be exactly 5-star quality if that is what you're expecting.

I love the regent grand. It is amazing....great service with genuinely friendly people! The Teona Spa is wonderful. The manager remembered me from last year. She arranged for me to see the same person as last year which was Leonela. She was nice, professional, organized and attentive to all details! As good as or better than any experience than I have had in the states.

This is our second stay at the Regent Grand. The first was so wonderful we came back to the same 2 BR suite on the 4th floor for a longer visit this year. I will write more when we get back home, but I just want to say this is my favorite spot, island and place in the world. RG also has wonderful, friendly, kind staff. They are all great and ready to help with anything. I LOVE IT HERE...

PS last year we were here on high season...it was just fine...no big crowds...

Currently sitting on our balcony looking at the sea....

Room Tip: The higher up the better...beachfront..
