“Blissfully peaceful”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

We stayed here 3 nights recently and had a wonderful time. Situated very close to the shops and a great location on the beach. Very nice infiniti pool and remarkably quiet with seating around the pool or on the beach any time of day. Staff extremely friendly - for the price a bit understaffed but they do try hard to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Oceanview suite lovely, spacious with full kitchen. Very clean. Continental breakfast was included - pretty average. Highly recommended if in your price range and you are looking for a quiet vacation.

We were supposed to stay at the Regent Grand. Our stay was paid ahead of time. Just
before the flight, we were told that the Regent Grand overbooked us. When I called the Regent Grand, the woman confirmed that we were overbooked. We had to cancel our trip because the Regent Grand overbooked. Yes, I spoke with the hotel directly. They were horrible.

The Regent Grand has had two previous reviews removed from our page posted by LillyMaine due to the fact that the reviewer has had no contact with The Regent Grand except to confirm that she did not have a reservation at the hotel. The Regent Grand Reservation agent did not confirm that this reviewer was overbooked. We confirmed that she did not have a reservation.

We spent a wonderful week from Feb 18th to Feb 25th at the Regent Grand in Providenciales, Turks & Caicos. Based on earlier reviews we had read our expectations were pretty high and the Regent Grand exceeded them. We rented a 1 bed room condo (#802) with pool view. It was extremely modern, well decorated, well equipped & very clean. The pool view was lovely. Service was excellent including maid service daily and turn down each night (with a chocolate!).

There were always plenty of beach umbrellas & chairs by the beach. Same for the chairs by the pool. And yes, someone from the resort will come by while you are on the beach & bring cold bottles of water at least a couple of times a day. Very much appreciated. The gardens are immaculate and well maintained.

We loved the infinity pool and the view through the main building, through the row of palm trees, out to the beautiful ocean. It blew me away.

The beach is clean, the water super clear and warm & the color of the ocean a light turquoise blue. The beach goes on for kilometres & kilometres. Loved going for long walks (& a couple of runs) on the beach. It was quiet & when we were sitting on the beach it was great just watching people walk by & enjoying the breeze, the color of the ocean & the warm sun.

The Regent Grand is also quiet, which we very much appreciated, but it is also well located, just across from the Regent Village. Didn't need a car the entire week we were there. There is a very nice grocery store, the Graceway Gourmet, less than a 10 minute walk from the Regent Grand. But prepare for sticker shock! Everything is expensive in the Turks - $11 for a bread, $6 for a celery.

There are a couple of stores in the Regent Village as well as the Salt Mills Plaza just across. Not much to buy. But best feature of the Regent Village was the restaurants. especially:
Le Buchon - our favorite, went there 2x for dinner & once for lunch. Their nicoise salad at lunch is fantastic.
Garam Masala - surprisingly good Indian Food, nice decor.
Vix - restaurant affiliated with the hotel.

Also really liked:
Bella Luna - just beyond Regent Village - very nice Italian food. Lobster Piccata dish I had there was truly memorable. Beautiful setting but service is very fast. You will be in & out of the restaurant in around 1 hour
Bay Bistro - next to the Sands, beautiful spot for dinner outdoors, right on the ocean
The deck at the Seven Stars - beautiful spot. Try the conch salad.

If you want a nice, quiet vacation in a wonderful spot to relax and re-energize I can't think of a nicer place than Providenciales and we loved the Regent Grand. Not great for someone who wants lots of activities but that wasn't us. Just wanted some high quality r & r and we found teh perfect spot at the Regent Grand. We're already planning our next trip back next year!

Initially, The Regent Grand met my expectations. Our 2 bedroom ocean view suite was spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. The grounds were well maintained and the beaches were incredible. However, they do fall short on service. Our bartender was not the most helpful nor was the concierge, at times...."island way?"

Staff was not readily available to take our drink or food orders by the pool or beach area. When I complained to the front desk that we were not even given water throughout the day, as stated, they promised to bring them to our room. Instead they forgot and closed the front desk.

When we're paying nearly $1,200 per night, I expect better service. Last year, we were in Cancun at Grand Velas, the resort was fantastic, state of the art spa, beautiful boutiques, and service unmatched. What this island has are the beaches, crystal clear waters, so it seems that there's a trade off.

In addition, they're NOT accepting AMEX, anywhere. Even where they had signs posted, "American Express accepted here". Therefore, bring either visa/mc.

While many business in the Turks and Caicos are not accepting American Express due to with-holding of tax, The Regent Grand, The Vix Bar and Grill, and Provo Golf Club accept American Express and will continue to do so.

We stayed at the Regent Grand for our first visit to Turks and Caicos. By day 2, we had already decided that we would be back!! Having walked the beach and taken a look at the other hotels I viewed on Tripadvisor, we decided that we are at the best spot by far, and we will definitely be back to the Regent Grand. For us, it was a perfect beach location, and most amazing pool. We had a two bedroom pool view villa, and can't say that we missed the ocean view. The ocean view would have been great, but we didn't suffer at all with the pool view. The beach at the Regent Grand is amazing - we could always find chairs and it was a section of the beach free from any seaweed which made our kids quite happy. The worst part...having to leave, but we will be back!!

We spent a long weekend with friends at the Regent Grand and had a wonderful time! The resort is gorgeous, and our 2BR ocean view suite was extremely comfortable, spacious, and clean. The location can't be beat--beautiful Grace Bay is only steps away, and there are many great restaurants, shops, and even a grocery store in walking distance. The staff at the Regent Grand was very helpful and friendly--a big improvement to what we experienced at another Grace Bay resort back in 2005. And I have to mention that the bartender made the best Cosmo I ever had!

The Regent Grand was everything that I expected and then some. The resort itself was absolutely gorgeous and quite peaceful. The staff was very friendly and helpful with anything that we needed. They delivered excellent service with a sincere smile while being personable and professional. It is perfect for families, couples and even a girls/guys trip. We stayed in one of the bottom floor units which was perfect! It allowed us to easily access the gorgeous sandy beach by walking out the back doors or take a dip in the resort's amazing pool which was located only steps away from the front door. One of the best benefits of staying at The Regent Grand is definitely the location. It is in walking distance of fantastic restaurants, grocery stores and cute little boutiques. In addition, it is a quick ride from the airport so you can start enjoying your vacation as soon as you land! I would highly refer this property to anyone who was visiting Turks and Caicos!!
