We went to Hemmingway's the first night of a week long trip to Turks and Caicos. It was our worst meal. The service was awful. it took our waitress about 15 minutes to greet us after we sat down. Then it took another 10 minutes to serve us our drinks. The restaurant was not busy, so we don't know what the problem was. Our waitress took our order for dinner and vanished. We never saw her again. Someone else delivered our meal (which is not that uncommon), but our original waitress never came back. She didn't check on how we were enjoying our meal, she never asked us if we needed anything else, she never even came back with a check. We had to flag down three other servers to help get us through our meal and to get our check. I ordered the crabcakes which were not good, but my husband did enjoyed the snapper. We were prepared for a week of awful service, expecting this was the "island way", but thankfully all the other restaurants we visited had terrific service.

We went here for dinner. We ordered lobster and fish. Both were over done and very dry. I couldn't tell if they had been sitting under a heat lamp, or the chef didn't know how to cook on a grill. The service was average, we had to wait and try to attract someone's attention to get more water or service. Would not return for the price and the quality of food.

We stayed at the Sands and Hemingway's is on property right off of the beach. We have gone to several restaurants on the island and Hemingway's is consistently among the best. It has a no frills atmosphere because it allows the spectacular view of the beach speak for itself. The staff was friendly enough, the drinks were delicious and the varied menu was tasty and reasonably priced. They have a nice bar, good takeout and even take drinks to you out on the beach if you stay at the Sands. We definitely recommend eating here for lunch or dinner, you won't be disappointed.

Second day on the island went to Hemingways. Romantic location, right on the beach. My partner had a great tuna steak! The sauce and veggies included with it made the taste incredible.

I had the pleasure of spending a week, July 29th through August 7th on beautiful Grace Bay and dining at Hemingway's several times. I thoroughly enjoyed every meal--breakfast, lunch and dinner. My personal favorites were the Ernesto Omlette, Papa Burger, Fish Tacos, Conch Salad, Lobster Tail and the Moveable Feast. next time I visit I will try their Rack of Lamb.
The bar is comfortable and lively at times, beer is ice cold and the drinks are great; try the Bloody Ceaser or Pina Colada. Hemingway's prices are reasonable for Turks and Caicos.
All of the staff, from hostess, waiters , waitresses to bartenders, are friendly and very attentive. The manager is very hands-on and is usually present to make sure his clients have an excellent dining experience.
I definitely will return to Hemingway's and would recommend it highly to friends and family alike.
