We read reviews and looked forward to the jerk ribs and chicken. It did not dissapoint. The plantains were fabulous too. We would love to stop back for the jerk pork. Roger (chef) came out to introduce himself and all we could do was compliment him on the awesome food.

Chinsons does a big weekend BBQ but we go on Wednesday nites. Friendly service, good food - altho sometimes they don't have every item on the menu. We don't mind that, having lived here for almost 30 years. Good service, good prices, relaxed outdoor atmosphere. Roger and his staff are a refreshing change.I brought the Wed group here with fingers crossed and everybody said: I'll come back. So we do.

Food was good. Owner very friendly. He sat down and shared a lot of information about the islands. Said if we didn't like our food, we don't pay. Of course we liked it! We had plenty of food for a reasonable price. The jerk fell off the bone. Our 9-year-old son loved the Jamaican pattys. We weren't crazy about the rum cake, though. All locals there while we were there, which is generally a good sign. Worth a visit.

the people here were so nice, especially mr. chinson, who came by our table to introduce himself and later to check how we liked our meal. they seemed to be out of half of the menu (red bean soup, jerk pork, conch fritters and something else i cannot remember) and what was available was just ok. we got the "famous" jerk chicken and it was good, but nothing to write home about. lots of bones and the sauce on the side tasted like it came from a bottle. the jamaican patties had virtually no filling and tasted like eggrolls...again, good, but nothing special (and nothing about them tasted jamaican). the festival was tasty and we bought a few to take home from the bakery. it was still a pleasant time and we left with full bellies, but we have had better meals in provo.

When you're in Provo you cannot miss this incredible place, Chinson BBQ. It was so delicious we went there TWICE in one vacation. Frankly we would have gone there more if we didn't run out of time.

Chef Roger is incredible and the flavors and BBQ he creates are nothing short of HEAVEN. On Chef's suggestion we ordered the sampler for two which was a selection of Chicken (YUM), Ribs (OH MY), Grilled Shrimp (!!) and Brisket (OMG). Of course it also included 2 varieties of bread, plantains, cole slaw and beans & rice. Obviously much more than 2 people SHOULD be able to devour. The first time we ordered it Hubs and I looked at the plate and said "Wow this is a lot of food". I mean, coming from Chicago we KNOW big portions, and this was a good sized lunch. Once we dug into this deliciousness we knew there was NO WAY that there would be anything left on the plate. (Ok we left some bread but Good Lord how could we not!) And the Brisket...well there is not a lot to say, other than I would donate a kidney for more right this very minute.

So when you're on Provo stop and vist Chef Roger (what a doll!) and check out some Chinson BBQ. It's a fabulous meal and great hospitality that should not be missed! We're still trying to figure out how to get it all the way to Chicago!
