An unexpected gem in Provo. The bar-b-que dinner was wonderful. Get the combination platter so that you can taste several of the meats. Also, the Jamaican loaf bread was wonderful. Took a loaf back to our condo and made wonderful french toast. The view from the hilltop was beautiful.

This is not a waterfront eatery, but what it lacks in location it makes up in spades in awesome food. Located on the main road (Leeward Highway), across the street from the building supply center. Seating is very casual on picnic benches. Went there two nights in a row. I'm a huge fan of jerk chicken and Chinson's is the best on the island. The second night (Friday) was their weekly local food special evening and they were serving mannish water, an authentic Jamaican goat stew. Top that off with some braised oxtail, fried plantains, and a Dragon stout from Jamaica... so tasty!! It is very popular with the locals for take out - you'll see the parking lot packed with cars.

The chef is very friendly and comes out to talk with the guests. Unlike the somewhat indifferent service found elsewhere on the island, the servers here are fast and friendly. DJ spins reggae from an outdoor shack which adds to the nice vibe.

Jerk chic only on Thurs/fri//sat. BBQ on Tues/Wed. That was not clear to us when we went - we really wanted to try the jerk. No matter we chose the BBQ platter for. 2 ($50). Shrimp, chic, ribs plus 2 sides- spicy yet oh so good! There are also single platters. You can also order bbq by lb to go. Kids ordered off of Chinese menu (sm or family siZes avail). Loved the sweet & sour pork and lo mein. Picnic table seating only. DJ Chin was rock in' da night away. Watched as locals poured into parking lot to pick up take-out (sign of good place)! Service was so friendly- we chatted up our servers and some kids hanging out. Got a real feel of the islands instead of in sterile resort dining room. Wish I was there now.

We went there for supper with friends. This was our second visit to Provo but didn't know about it the last time we visited. What a great spot! We couldn't make up our minds so the waitress said let me look after it and brought us a platter for four mainly consisting of their famous jerk chicken and ribs. More than enough to eat with leftovers for the next day. The place is packed so you are taking a chance getting dings or scrapes on your car as we did. Food is delicious, reasonably priced and you get the local feel. Tables aren't fancy so don't wear your best clothes. The owner checked on us to make sure everything was ok. Apparently he always does this this. So if you are looking for a good relaxing casual place to eat go here.

We came here on a Saturday night based on reviews we had read. Although the view is nothing special (it's on a hill overlooking Leeward Highway), the vibe was friendly and the food came really quickly! We ordered pulled pork sandwiches for our sons, and they gladly gobbled up the delicious and generous meal! We both had to try bites from our kids's meals since they kept saying how awesome their sandwiches were- and they were right! The fries on the side were so good, my hubby and I had to snag quite a few off their plates. We had jerk pork and chicken. It comes all sliced up with some great slaw and rice with beans. Unfortunately it is pretty dark so it was hard to see what we were eating which made it unpleasant to accidentally bite into a piece of bone or a blob of fat that you would have avoided if you could see what you were eating. Beer was cold and reasonably priced. Bottled water and can of Coke at $1.50 each were the cheapest on the island. The chef did stop by to say hello and there was a DJ playing tunes to make our meal even more enjoyable. Lots of people stopped by for takeout while we dined.
