Dawna & Pierre were born for the task of hosting/running Reef House!
The house was ideal in no small part because they prepared it with excellence & operate it the same way.
We've enjoyed many such rental stays, at which I usually cook at least some of our meals, & no kitchen has ever been as well appointed as this one.
Pierre greeted us at the airport like we were family coming to visit.
His joyful enthusiasm a perfect representation of the island & her people & so infectious.
I'd swear he knows every resident as evidenced by the numerous "Hellos" as we rode around with him in the golf cart.
Allow them to guide you peacefully into the island life & try as quickly as you can to slow down, I promise you the sooner you do the sooner you'll fall in love with Grand Turk.
Make use of the bikes that are provided, they & your feet are all you'll need for getting around, & also have a go on the paddle boards. You'll want to spend plenty of time in the water & these will give you access to other parts beyond the beach right in front of you.
And do enjoy the water! It is very safe there. We paddled out to the edge of the shelf to snorkel & were still very close to the house.
Take water shoes with you. There is plenty of coral dispersed throughout the sand, as well as a few urchins, so you'll feel more comfortable shod.
One of our favorite meals was the night I bought a mangrove snapper at the fresh fish market right next door. The boat comes in about 6:00 each evening with the days catch as fresh as it can possibly be.
We also enjoyed several meals at Bohio. Their kitchen is excellent.
Before our week was even half over we were already discussing when we would be coming back & which of our various family members we wanted to bring along so they could experience this absolute paradise with us.
Also, if you're a scuba diver, let Pierre direct you according to your experience/desires. He connected me with Oasis & I had a marvelous time.
