“Beautiful, natural beach with excellent snorkeling.”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

I'd recommend taking the cab from the cruise ship port at Margaritaville (way too touristy for our taste) to Pillory Beach at Bohio Dive Resort, about 15 minutes away. The beach is full of shells and natural pine. The sands are white and powdery and there is excellent snorkeling close by. The guide will take you out with supplied equipment for a few hours for 40 dollars, or you can rent the snorkeling equipment for 20 dollars, all day. The reefs are beautiful here, and there is an underwater cliff that drops from 50 feet to an instant mile deep precipice called the Grand Turk Wall.
There is a bar on the beach with very strong drinks and a limited beer menu, a restaurant, clean restrooms and a few other equipment rentals.
There are lots of conch shells and sand dollars to take home if you like, just make sure there isn't a hermit crab in one, otherwise the water and beaches are full of them-free for the taking.
To rent a beach lounge chair is 10 dollars, drinks are 12-14 bucks, burgers and other food runs from 10-15, a little on the expensive side for what you get but we didn't care.
There are lots of friendly dogs running around, all collared and well cared for, and they will sit with you and play all day long. We loved it!
Be sure to shop the duty free shops at the port if you are a shopper. This island is known for color-changing knick knacks. Not my thing, but people love them apparently.
A few more points about Bohio...outdoor showers are located by the bathrooms. You can't use the pool unless you are a guest at this small, odd resort. I don't think we'd ever stay here but it's fun for a day.
The cabbie will pick you up in plenty of time to make departure from your ship. Be sure to tip.
We'd do it again for sure!

“Smooth Operation , Very Easy Diving From Bohio Beach”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

Really enjoyed diving with Bohio .
Our dive master for the week was Salt Cay Ollie . Knows the wall inside out , literally .
Dives were casual and unrushed , always able to offgas on top of the wall and enjoy our dives down to our last 500 psi .

“Fantastic day!”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

We took a private boat charter from the cruise port to Gibb's Cay to go snorkelling and swim with the rays. There were 2 families of 4, both with little kids. We had a fabulous time! On the way our captain "Meat" went free diving for conch and once we got to the beach he taught the kids how to prepare the conch and made a delicious salad. We had lots of time to swim with the rays and snorkel. We were at Gibb's Cay while other tours came and went and for the most part had the island to ourselves. A bit more pricy that a typical tour but definitely worth it.

“Nice beach”
Reviewed December 23, 2012

We spent that day on Pillory Beach which Bohio Resort sits on. Rented snorkel and fins from the resort - very $$ and the snorkeling was poor. Hardly anything to see. The colors of the water were lovely with lots of conch shells which was nice. Looks like there was lots of construction at one time on in this area but it sits unfinished which diminishes the appeal of the beach.

Last week I was on a snorkeling excursion at the Bohio Dive Resort. The driver of the boat did not give any of the snorkelers any instruction as to how to put the mask on, swim with a buddy, offer a life jacket, etc. I am an experienced snorkeler, but for someone that is not, it can be very dangerous in the water, without any direction. On our boat, a man died from an accident that could have been prevented. In the future, I hope that the owner of the resort makes it mandantory for more safety instructions before jumping in the water.
