We stopped at The Local Villag Bar in Grand Turk for lunch. It was great! They made us feel welcome, and we had a ball. Can't wait to go back.

I saw the sign "Cold Beer $3.50" from our cruise ship. After our swim in the beautiful blue water, we strolled down to "The Local Village Bar & Restaurant." We got immediate service with a friendly smile, cold Turk beer for $3.50 (half the price of the places nearer to the cruise center) . . . .and these wonderful Conch bites. We also tried the conch fritters which were good . . . but, oh my!! . . . the conch fritters were in this lovely tempura light batter and fried to golden brown. The conch was tender and excellent! Say Hi to Arthur the owner and his sister. And ask for a free taste of the local rum which Arthur will give you with a smile. Tell him you read this review on Trip Advisor.

The Local Village Bar and Restaurant is located just up the beach from the Cruise Center, more than worth the short walk up the beach to sample all of the authentic specialties they offer. My favorite is the fresh conch salad, marinated in freshly squeezed lime juice, diced tomatoes, onions and spices, it is a must try.

They have FREE beach lounges, umbrellas and WIFI, Arthur, the proprietor is always on hand to make sure that everyone is having a good time.

This bar has a very relaxed atmosphere and the staff is very welcoming. The conch fritters are delicious and they serve them with a creamy dipping sauce. I also had their local passion juice and it was delicious. If you want to take a tour of the island this is the place to wait for the arrival, the tour is about an hour and fifteen minutes so if you just missed it you'll have to wait about that amount of time for the next one ask the staff here and they'll let you know an expected time frame. The tour provided is the only one that helps the locals and is worthwhile because they tell you a lot about the history of the island. So stop by the local village take a dip in the ocean have a drink relax then take a tour (-:
