“Great way to see the entire island”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013

We visited Grand Turk on Holland America in December. The owner, Doug, offered a group rate of $21 per person for a group of 10 or more from the ship, then just took $20 because it was a hassle to make change. That's the easy-going spirit of the tour, a family business that donates part of its proceeds to the Grand Turk Preservation Trust. It is an open-air tram, so I imagine it can be hot at times, but it was sunny and just warm enough when we visited. This 90-minute tour is a much better value than the cruise lines' inflated prices. It is not difficult to find: as you walk toward the beach on the pier, just look to your left past the boundaries of the Margaritaville complex. The tram is parked next to the Local Village bar, near several international flags. Just walk along the beach about 100 yards. Doug will answer any questions in advance by e-mail. We're pleased to recommend this business.

“Island Trams Tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2013

My husband and I were on a cruise in November and the excursions were just too pricey. We decided to walk over to the bar that boasted the best prices on conchs and ran into the owners of this guided tour. The price was amazing and we decided to take it. Loved how personal they made the tour and how informative they were of the Island. We fell in love with Grand Turk, thanks to this tour! Thanks for showing the love of your island!

“Great Island Hospitality”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013

My mother, sister, step-sister and I were thrilled to step away from the Grand Turk beach for a 1-1/2 hour narrated tour of Grand Turk. We're so happy we were able to explore the island and loved our tour guides, which included two brothers and their mother! Thanks, guys, for your wonderful hospitality.

“Island Trams of Grand Turk - Fun, Informative and Relaxing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2013

We took the Island Trams Tour in Grand Turk. We arrived by cruise ship and had a little trouble finding it but make it a point to go on this tour. If you arrive by cruise ship, go outside the gates and go left down a path or go along the beach and you will see a whole line up of international flags and the tram sitting there on the beach. This tour lasts about 90 minutes and takes you all along the beautiful Island of Grand Turk. We had a blast in the tram and saw so many wonderful things all the while being told about the island and sites along the way. We went to the Lighthouse - ( Bring Doritos for the Donkeys) and returned back to the beach. Loved the Island music and warm tropical breeze. We also had a rum punch and great conch salad at the little bar right by the tram. Thank you Raymond and Doug. This company gives back to the Island's historical Society and preservation so I really thought that was important and a great asset. Wonderful memory of Grand Turk.

“The highlight of our cruise!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2013

My husband and I recently took a 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise on Ruby Princess. We didn't book excursions through Princess, but instead opted to explore the islands and book independently.
We docked on Grand Turk on Friday, January 4, 2013. We walked down the beach to the Local Village Restaurant and Bar and saw the Island Trams kiosk located beside Local Village. Prices are very reasonable and the tour of the island is great. I hope Grand Turk maintains its authentic Caribbean feel and is able to escape the commercialism of most of the other islands visited by the cruise ships.
The Fenimore brothers provide a great tour and taking this tour means that you are contributing to the National Trust on the island which helps restore historical landmarks on the island (salt ponds, windmills, structures, etc.).
We loved the architecture of Grand Turk (Bermudian), loved watching the donkeys and horses wandering about the island (some cows, too!), and the lighthouse and surrounding beach area was beautiful. You won't see more beautiful water anywhere.
Doug provided us with a lot of information about Grand Turk and the surrounding islands. His brother drove us and provided us with a safe comfortable ride.
We highly recommend this tour if you have the good fortune to visit the area.
