Sailed here with the wife on Carnival. It's nice to get off the boat, but I wasn't impressed with the beach much. You basically walk off the ship, stroll a few hundred feet and your right there. You can tell the terminal is owned by the cruise lines. I don't know for a fact that Carnival owns it, but it sure felt like it. Automatic gratuity added to bar drinks, etc. Luckily, we were the only boat in port, but it was still crowded. I can only imagine what it's like with more than one ship docked. If we ever go there again, I'm going to the beach for an hour and then getting back on the ship to enjoy it empty.

Here's a tip: Walk down the beach a bit to Jacks Shack and booze up there. Food and drinks are cheaper and better. Even bought a $3 local beer on the way back up the beach to the boat.

What can be said is this is a excellent beach to use when arriving on a cruise ship. It is right next to the dock so long walks to get there or cabs to negoiate with.

Pluses:
right near the dock
Margaritaville right behind beach. great drink spot
fantastic snorkeling
as other said FREE chairs
since you are by the ship you can get the most of your day at the beach

Minuses:

None

take a break save some money have a great day at this beach that has clear blue water.

This was the last stop on my Caribbean cruise the first week of March. The water was warm, and calm for swimming & crystal clear! My BF and I got to take a lot of pics with our underwater camera. Margaritaville is right behind the beach and at the end of the cruise pier so very convenient to have a few drinks or grab a bite to eat when you've exhausted yourself swimming in the ocean!

While aboard the Carnival Freedom, we visited this beach while docked in Grand Turk for the day. This is an excellent choice for families with young children. As soon as you walk off the ship you are on the beach in two minutes. It's so nice to not need a taxi to get to the beach! Another great bonus is that the beach chairs are free! Which is a nice surprise considering how expensive it is to rent chairs on other beaches! In Aruba we paid $45 for two chairs and an umbrella!
There is a nice bar and restaurant by the beach. Dj and swimming pool as well. I also liked that there were locals on the beach selling bottle water, pop etc for a very reasonable price. That way I didn't need to leave the beach when my kids needed a drink. This beach is excellent for snorkeling as well. Lots of gorgeous fish very close to shore. We even seen a huge Baracuda up close! My recommendations is to pack water shoes for the whole family as there are lots of rough rocks getting in and out of the water. My other recommendation is to set your wake up call extra early. Have breakfast early and line up at the gangway early! The line starts to form around 40 min before expected time of all ashore. For anyone who has been to Provo T&C, please note this beach is not the same. The iconic and world famous beauty of T&C is on the main island known as Providenciales aka Provo.
Happy Cruising!

Lots of lounge chairs even with 2 ships docked. Was very clean and the water was a clear aqua blue. Plenty of shade when you have had enough sun. Very relaxing considering how many people were there. Swimming pools looked crowded. Lots of different little stores from the usual ship docks.
