The island is just beautiful, snow white beaches and aqua blue , warm ocean, but if you want to see something aboust the island stop in for a visit. We arrived here on the Ruby Princess and spent 5 nice hours, eating, exploring, and diving. Its a great family place

Easily summed up by my 8 year old son in the visitors book - "Everything was so awesome." If you take the time to read all of the signage, check out all of the displays and do some activities, it will probably take a good two hours to see it all.

We learned so many things in such a short time. The subject matter is focused around the islands, their history, natural resources and people. I especially liked the display on the salt industry and how salt was cultivated. The salt ponds in town make much more sense after gaining this knowledge (design & function). There are a lot of cool artifacts for such a small museum and the information was relayed in a number of sensible ways. The gift shop was small and pricey but with many nice souvenirs. My son got the satellite map of the Turks and Caicos with commemorative pin for the 50th anniversary of the capsule splashdown ($10).

If I were a cruise passenger, I probably wouldn't visit this attraction. But I would recommend to travelers who stay on the island, especially those who frequent the islands and want to learn about the unique history and culture of each. This is a great activity for an overcast day or when you need an escape from the sun or a good way to pass some time before leaving on an afternoon water excursion.

The museum is a cool way to spend and hour on this scuba-oriented island. The exhibits are well done and do relate the history of Grand Turk and the other islands of Turks and Caicos. Great place to get out of the mid-day sun
