“Day trip to North and Middle Caicos”
Reviewed January 27, 2014

We left our accommodation on Providenciales and got the 6:30 a.m.ferry to North Caicos. We were met by Mark McLean of Pelican Car Rental who provided us with our rental vehicle, a map of the 2 islands as well as some good directions and a suggested itinerary. Highlights of the day for us were the flamingoes in Flamingo Pond on North Caicos, Mudjin Harbour and Bambarra Beach on Middle Caicos.
We intended to visit the Wade Plantation, but were unable to find it.

These islands are very low key!! As North Caicos is called "the garden Island", we were expecting to see fields of vegetables, but did not see any large scale farming.

We returned to Providenciales on the 4 o'clock ferry and would recommend this excursion for anyone interested in seeing a sparsely populated part of the Caribbean.

We have had a vested interest in Middle Caicos and have three subdivisions in progress

It's been a long but fruitful road.

We had a major setback in 2008 when hurricanes Ike and Hannah sets us back on our rear ends all but destroying our new causeway

It took a while but the British government has finally rebuilt the Causeway Linking our treasured connection to North Caicos. This coming year the government will complete the restoration by restoring the asphalt

We've only had 10 hurricanes since 1903 and two of those arrived in 2008 but we survived and moved forward as you must in life.

There are those that thought we were totally crazy to build after the hurricanes and in the face of this disastrous economy.

We threw caution to the wind and recently completed the Royal Hideaway, a three unit townhouse complex with 3 1716 square-foot per unit luxury accommodations.

We have eight more houses to build in 2014 along with an entertainment facility that will feature rental Kayaks , standup Paddle boards, Scuba Diving and snorkeling trips so you can procure your own lunch or dinner for immediate BBQ

Day trips should be planned not just taken for granted. I see so many people come for exploratory trips and after a Quick lunch take a few pictures at Mudjin harbor or Daniels restaurant They miss everything this island stands for. We are the new frontier.

Visit Bambarra beach in March of 2014 or later for awesome snorkeling trips and beach bbq's or simply rent a Kayak or two to explore our above and under the water treasures

Track down Dolphus Arthur. Ice Robinson or Tboy for an adventure of a lifetime.

Middle Caicos tours will be in full swing by then ...

“Horrible!”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

We travel to a different destination in the Caribbean, each winter for 3 weeks to a month. I have never been to an island in the Caribbean that I absolutely hated as I have with TCI. We usually find things on these islands that we like and then things that we dislike, but in TCI we did not find one thing I would consider to be positive. First of all, the weather was awful. Too cool and rainy, especially at night. The main island of Turks is very small with very little to do or see. The waters were too rough to swim or snorkel, with a serious undertow. Groceries were ridiculously expensive - approx. $120. for just one meal. The restaurants were also extremely expensive, and I'm not even talking about fine dining. A Burger for lunch for 2 people and a couple of Cokes, about $80. The drinks were also about $12. We like Rum Punch. They make the rum right there, so why would they charge so much? We do not penny pinch when we travel, but this island really socks it to the tourists. As far as nightlife, there is none. The day trip to North and Middle Caicos was a waste of time because there isn't anything to see or to do there either. Oh, one more thing. We usually always meet people and make new friends. We found most of the other tourists on this island to be very uppity and snobby and wanted to keep to themselves. Also, if you like to shop, forget it!

“Highlight of trip was Mudjin Harbour, Middle Caicos”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

We went on a day tour of North and Middle Caicos through a company called Island Tours in Provo.
The tour includes: 1) Pick up & drop off from your hotel in Grace Bay. 2) Two way ferry tickets-traveling from Provo to North Caicos. Entrance fee to a Cave, a Farm and an old slave plantation 3) Stopped in for lunch at a resturant in North Caicos 4) Traveled into Middle Caicos via a causeway which brought us to Mudjin Harbour.

Cost was $195 per person.....I recommend Island Tours guide for this trip.

**Seeing Mudjin Harbour was definately a highlight of my vacation in Provo. It will take your breath away. We had approx. 2 hours to stay/explore.....if you want more time spent there, negotiate that with your tour guide prior to trip. I didnt feel 2 hours was long enough.

“Unique Experience”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

We to the ferry from Provo to North Caicos and drove to Middle Caicos. We stopped at Mudjin Harbor. This place is amazing!! The view and seclusion was worth the trek. We followed the trail on the cliff to find the entrance to secret beach. It was such a delight to have a picnic lunch on this little slice of heaven!!
