“Worth the trip - beautiful nature and a fun trip”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2013 via mobile

We visited with our 12month old son - it's a 15min ish walk through some pretty forest to get to the falls, but not particularly strenuous (we even saw someone get down there with a stroller, though probably not recommended!).

The falls themselves are a good sight but the fun is swimming in them! I'm told the higher falls get better, but as we had the baby we stayed at the bottom.

You do have to pay an entry fee, though we didn't take the guide with us and those who had did seem to have to leave when the guide told them not when they chose! It was about $40TT for foreigners and $30TT for locals, which seemed steep for access, but still go visit!!

There is a small drinks place at the start place, but worth taking drinks/food with you which you can easily get in the village on your way in!

“Picturesque and unspoilt”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2013 via mobile

We took our two boys here the other day. It's a bit of a walk (10 mins-ish) over generally easy terrain. The sights on route are worth the walk!

Then you get to the waterfall, which is pretty fab. Once there, you can swim in the pool, or climb a more difficult path to the upper pool.

Well worth the walk.

The only downside was all the tourists! :-)

“Great place - cool refreshing water”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2013

We got stopped at the entrance and there are several men/guides rather keen to get you inside - so we were informed that we needed to pay 160TTS to park/enter and then to pay for a guide to take us up to waterfalls. We paid and then as we had read several worrying reviews on trip advisor, decided that even though there were 8 of us in our group we should book a guide for safety. He took us up to the first level of the 3 tiered waterfall and then waited/watched while the girls in our party swam in the refreshing water. The boys/men walked up to the top tier (though you can't swim in this). Water is really cool but very deep so be careful if you are not a strong swimmer). We stopped at a little shack on the way back down to observe a young guy making wood carvings out of bamboo and some lovely souvenirs could be purchased for anything between 40 and 100 TTS. At the bottom we also bought balls of cocoa from the local plantation to bring home! A beautiful, cool place to visit.

Hans is an excellent tour guide. Well informed on island history, knows all the hot spots and keeps your entertained on the ride. Argyle was one of the highlights of the tour!

“"Great tiered waterfall"”

Beautiful waterfall, great attraction, short hike for the less adventurous. You can hike into the forest for the more adventurous and even camp put.
