“A wonderful way to spend an afternoon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2014

We visited Adventure Farm during our December holiday in Tobago. The hummingbirds were spectacular!! There was even a very rare white hummingbird that came to feed. I have never seen so many hummingbirds at the same time. At one point there were about 40 hummingbirds darting around and competing with each other. And they are so tame. You can stand 10 inches from them and they don't seem to be afraid. There are many other birds that come to feed but we especially loved the Mot Mot, it was so beautiful. No wonder he is called the King of the Wood.
We also walked around the grounds. There are fairly easy hiking trails where you can see many kinds of citrus trees, mango trees and other tropical plants. Unfortunatly there were no mangoes as it was not the right season but the oranges and tangerines were ready so we picked some. They were delicious. We saw lizards, and heard many parrots high up in the trees. They even have a fish pond.
Even though we were disappointed that it was not mango season I was happy to have a mango smoothy after our hike around the grounds. The owners harvest and freeze the mangoes so guests can enjoy the wonderful taste of mangoes all year round. My husband had the home made mango ice cream. What a wonderful way to end our visit.
On our next trip to Tobago we plan to go back for another visit to Adventure Farm.

“Hummingbird paradise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2014

Not the easiest place to find, but well worth the search. We got there about 5:00 when food had been put out for the hummingbirds (and other birds). There had to have been at least 60 hummingbirds of five or six different species as well as Blue-crowned Motmots and a few other species. As the sun set, bats started to come to the feeders to replace the hummingbirds. All in all, it was magical. In addition to that, the grounds are interesting to walk around and there are two villas on the property which would be fun to stay at. Maybe next trip to Tobago.

“An amazing place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2013

I was a bit skeptical about this place, as the pictures did not really do it justice. I hope mine give the public a better idea. It was a delight to walk into the place, which is actually somebody's house, and be treated as guests rather than customers who have to pay for admission (30TT). We didn't pay until we left actually, into a donation box. We spent almost 2h there, just sitting and watching the dozens of hummingbirds fly and buzz around your head. We almost got hit once or twice - it's incredible how loud the sound from their wings are. We managed to see one Mot-Mot on the Mot-Mot trail, but didn't get a good picture of it. Beware of mosquitoes!! Even the spray was not enough, make sure you bring trousers and long sleeves while you are there!

One of the highlights of my trip. Can almost miss the sign off the road to this little taste of heaven. The family who own the place have worked hard to create a serene, tranquil setting for all the various species of beautiful hummingbirds that come right up to the feeders while you look on in awe and admiration. They whizz around and buzz past your ears rather like a remote control glider - a weird sensation. Took endless photos of my favourite bird. Walked the little trail and enjoyed a freshly blended fruit smoothie courtesy of the lovely owner. The are doing a great deal for conservation and protection of the birds and land here so definitely worth a visit!

The idyllic setting provided a vast array of bird life and one of the dogs was happy to guide us around the grounds with the rich amount of fruit trees sustaining a vast array birdsongs. We saw at lest 5 species of hummingbird in the frenzy of feeding time with the chance to get unbelievably close for pictures and the chance to be face to face with the amazing animals.

An excellent place for all!
