This beach is one of the best, if not the best, on the island. How the name originated , no one quite knows. The water on the beach is crystal clear early in the morning and as the sun comes over the palm trees, the water slowly changes to the famous turquoise shade (blue/ green colour)The sand is coral based and as such it is almost lily white. You have to see it to believe it. There are a few gazebos on a first come first serve basis unless reserved. (I think). Did not use them as the sea water was more enticing. There are also beach chairs for rent at a reasonable cost.. The bar and restaurant facilities are adequate and not too expensive. The Carib bar at the main entrance serves alcohol and rum punch and the service is quite good.
However on the negative side the bathroom, changing and shower facilities need some improvement especially since a fee is charged to enter and cover the use and upkeep of the area and facilities. There are sporting activities such as kitesurfing and jet ski (seadoo)rides available for a fee. You can also get a boat tour to the reef and Nylon Pool but it is more expensive boarding the boat at this point than it is at Store Bay about a mile or two away.
For those who love art and crafts, there are a lot of outlets around selling local works of art along with clothing and beach wear enough to satisfy ones taste.
