Overrated and you pay for a beach that really is not that great in which anything you buy there is over priced.

“Beach heaven”

if you go to Tobago with young kids this should be a must. At weekends it does get busy but it is big enough for you to be find a spot which is peaceful. Bring your own food and drink to avoid costly charges but there are no vendors to hassle you - just a few people offering tours and excursions who are very friendly and polite and quite happily accept no for an answer. The best beach on the island for swimming with young children and check out the pelicans diving for fish. The shops offer a good selection of clothes like t shirts and souvenirs and outside the park buy a conch shell from the roadside vendors who love to chat. You have to pay to enter but it is cheap compared to other islands - kids under 6 are free and at TT$18 for adults and T$9 for children it is worth paying especially as this equates to £2.70! If you want a sheltered beach for the kids don't go round the headland as it is more exposed. You can book glass bottom trips from here and go on Sugar Lips which is basic but fun. A good day out for the family!

“Beautiful quiet beach with great food and some fun shops!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2013

I really enjoyed spending a day on this beach. It was peaceful and the restaurants provided both local food and American food. I went to this one bar and they served curry crab with dumplings and they even removed the shells in advance so that we didn't have to work for our meals! It was delicious, and comparable to what I would pay in the US ( about 8 or 9 bucks USD for each meal). Be sure to try the local Single Barrel Rum. It is delicious in several island style drinks. The drink prices ranged between 20 and 30 TT (between $4-6 US). The shops are all the way in the back and almost hidden. I really enjoyed some of these shops because they offered local handmade crafts and not just typical touristy junk. I bought two beautiful handmade vases that I never saw anywhere else. The prices were reasonable for the local artwork as well. The touristy stuff, however, was almost double what you would pay in a store not on the beach (the coffee mugs, trivets, keychains, magnets etc.) so don't buy these things at Pigeon Point. Instead, visit the local bazars near just about every major apartment complex.
You are required to pay to get into the park, and we had to pay 15 TT per person to rent beach chairs. There are no towels to be found, so bring your own. One of the best things about this beach is that you aren't constantly bothered by people trying to sell you stuff. Overall, it was a very nice day. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

“Enjoyable day”

The park does cost to get in but has the advantage of amenities and no vendors trailing after you. Would suggest taking snacks and drinks as the prices are slightly high. There is also some very nice beach leading up to the park area that is free

“Beautiful setting , but you pay for it!!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2012

A well managed beach area. But you pay on entering and then pay for bed. The resturants and bars charge a premium for everything. Take a snack for yourself and relax in the wooden free sun stands and it makes more sense. Worth visiting at least once on your holiday. If you walk there you can always get a taxi back.
