We were a little surprised by the prices here - it was quite over priced compared with other places on the island. The food was nice as was the atmosphere, but still didn't really make the price worthwhile!

Hi just returned from a truly disappointing experience!
As rounding off our holiday we thought we were looking forward to treating ourselves to a meal at the" seahorse inn" after the great reviews we had seen and told about?
Saturday evening 8pm (not that busy due to weather) we arrived and sat at the bar waiting
for a table with a view as requested. Cocktails ordered.... were we had cheaply
made cocktails (cheap liquor) we were then asked our choice of menu from barman,
we selected - lobster (as we were told only one was available) and the 14oz steak with choice of pot/rice/frie etc... and veg or salad?....we selected reviewing choice?
Only then to be greeted by an overzealous lady stating that this was incorrect and rolling her eyes stating we would be charged extra as it was either one plain or the other?????? at already exuberating prices!!!?
Then led to our lovely table already exasperated by our ordeal of choosing...(draining)...with extras....
Starters came ....chicken satay....lovely not too much or little taste sublime...and salmon bellinis
tasty too much bellini not enough salmon or horseradish...but tasty slightly overpriced caviar was barely visible to the naked eye ..
More overprice cocktails orded with dinner ...one bad mojito and an other...
Lobster Thermidor with EXTRAS and steak with EXTRAS (salad with bacon blue cheese dressing and blue cheese) with shall i say no blue cheese or blue cheese dressing on and when brought to there attention said sorry we can give you brie???? after being told that we were being charged for this as extras??? and a lecture??
Lobster was fantastic...steak was Very fatty and poor quality and when again brough it to attention was given a lecture on diffent cuts of meat and cooking status?.....like weve never ordered a steak before???? somewhat demeaning?
SO ... i would not normally be writing this but as it was a special occasion and we were expecting it to be that little bit extra for a truly great experience...All we got was overpriced -,underexperienced middle of the road with no customer satisfaction!!!..disappointing !!

Lovely food in an excellent location with decent [ although pricey for this choice] wine. It was quite quiet the night we went but it meant we got one of the best tables and the service was very good

We were eager to go to the Seahorse because we had heard it was the best on the island, not true at all, it may have been before the Fish pot and the Shirvan watermill opened but they are far better now. The food is more than pricey for what you get and mains are served on mashed potato to bulk it up, becaise the fish portion itself is tiny and a bit dry. I had snapper and my husband had swordfish and we were both disappointed. We also shared a pudding which was supposed to be parfait but was just a bowl of ice cream and bananas . The bill came to £80 without wine, but we had two cocktails in their happy hour which is not that happy at 30 percent discount not half price. Their security is poor as it faces a dark stretch of beach where people have been mugged in the past few weeks.

went hre on 10th July, excellent ambience and managed a table looking out to sea.

I started with "liver pate", it was ok but nothing special
My wife had " crab cakes", more like crab balls, they were rather small and had more potato than crab meat.

For main course my wife had the seafood tempura, again ok but nothing special.
I had the "tuna', asked for med-rare, but it was slightly dry

Overall was dissappointed, especially for the price paid
we had another meal out at the "Watermill"which was far better and cheaper
