Now being operated by Dos Santos Dillon of Dillon's Seafood fame (Crown Point). The Watermill has been cleaned up and looks fresh but retains the beauty of the location. Menu simplified; Food was very good by their new Chef Kevin Pariag; priced reasonably. All in all it was a very good night out. I will definitely be back and have already sent friends to try it out.

I felt compelled to warn readers of this awful restaurant. I'd been before and the food was tolerable but edible. But not any more... Firstly the prices have shot up. But much worse is that the food is absolutely terrible. My mixed fish resembled some kind of grey boil in the bag sludge. The only thing i could eat eas the rice. Every dish we ordered was awful served up with a grand flourish as if the waitress was dishing out world peace. Please avoid the tourist trap and eat elsewhere!

Yes, the ambiance is wonderful, but the food was very disappointing. We had crab stuffed snapper and water buffalo steak, which are supposedly their specialties. The snapper was overdone and mushy the steak was grisly and almost inedible garnished with an unrecognizable sauce, allegedly Bearnaise. This was a Saturday night during Easter weekend, but there were only two tables of diners. The server never bothered to light the candle on our table. We asked for salt - ours was humidity soaked, but so was another one we were offered. This is the only restaurant we have seen in the Caribbean that doesn't put rice in the shaker...duh! When we asked for pepper our server presented it in helicopter fashion. Service was indifferent at best. There are so many better options for great food in Tobago. I would suggest you avoid Shirvan Watermill. It's best days are long past.

We had our rehearsal dinner at the Shirvan Watermill last week. It is the most lovely setting (candles and lanterns ) and the food (a Caribbean buffet) was fantastic. Our guests raved about it for days. We booked out the whole restaurant for 30 people and the staff could not have been more friendly and professional. Thank you to David the owner , Chef Eddison, Barman Nikita and supervisor Denise and everyone else who worked so hard last Monday.
David and his team actually catered our wedding two days later at a different venue and it was equally wonderful. Thank you to you all for making it the best day ever!
If you are in Tobago - don't miss out on the Shirvan Watermill.

I just went there. (Nov 2010). The bread that they put at the table was amazing (fresh of course. They even put banana bread. The group of us had lamb, chicken and pork. I must say that all of us were impressed with the food. The place is very pretty in night and romantic . The waiter was very professional. This place however only opens for dinner.
You have to try it. Nice!
