Supposedly a great restaurant but experience suggests food OK but not brilliant - one chicken curry was very full of chicken and gristle rather that just chicken. Pappadoms were also burnt and over done in places. But the rest of our party found the food pleasant and tasty. Breads were excellent and they offer an extensive range of food.

Decor interesting but bit tatty in places and menus were very greasy - never a great sign of real quality.

Also whilst the restaurant was not busy - Monday night- service was on the slow side. As other reviewers have commented it is not cheap and rather expensive and overpriced for the offer. Gives the impression it is living on past success.

In summary OK for a basic curry experience but don't expect to be blown away.

The restaurant has the look of an Old World dining room, but the food was awful and the service was lousy.

If you love Indian cuisine, this is the place! Even if you're vegetarian, the spices make your tastebuds melt with pleasure! The staff is dedicated and friendly; and there is ample parking even though the restaurant is located in one of the busiest areas of the capital.

I think the next time I step foot in Apsara will either be when my rich aunt takes me or when I win the lotto, whichever comes first. I personally think the prices are a bit over the top, but then the food is worth it. Great tasting food and ambience. Not lucky enough to get five stars because the service was a but rigid, the food took forever to come and the owner will walk up and down and never offer a smile. But did I mention you gotta love their black dhal?? Yum!

The dishes were delicious & the service was excellent
( reasonable prices)
It was most relaxing. I was surprised to find such a restaurant in Port-of- Spain. One would think that you are in India with the decor of the restaurant- total ambience- even the waitresses were wearing beautiful Indian dresses
