Lovely family that runs this bed and breakfast. They were very accomodating and very nice! I've also stayed here during Carnival a couple of years ago and was very impressed. I read some reviews about this place not being safe. I've yet to have a problem in the 5 years I've been staying! I highly recommend!!!

What started out as a good trip, suddenly turned tramatizing. Im not going to go into full details, but myself along with five others had our room broken into while we were sleeping. We were woken up by an armed intruder & was opted to hide & cover our faces before being attacked. We want to believe that this was an inside job because the intruder came in the room with a key, and we later found out that all weapons used, were taken from the house/hotel itself. If you value your life, as well as your belongings, I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. It was a very tramatizing event, and now its costing me more physically & mentally. The service gets an F- in my books.

The management of Sam's take the accusations leveled at them very seriously and it is with great aberration that I write this rebuttal. The room in question was rented to 4 individuals for Carnival 2009 for 6 nights, every courtesy was extended to this group. During the stay these guest kept entertaining several local based family members and friends on the premises. We expressed concern about all different unregistered individuals being let onto the compound. We further stated that only registered guests were to be accommodated in the rooms. The room was registered to four guests yet it was occupied by six people at the time of the alleged incident.... Who were these two people and who let them into the room? Everyone's security is jeopardized when unregistered persons are let onto premises. Let me say unequivocally that security is paramount, since a portion of the guesthouse is owner occupied. Each room is equipped with safety locks on the inside and at the time of alleged incident, emergency alert buttons, yet none of these complainants raised an alarm even after alleged robbery occurred. Management apologized profusely at the time of alleged incident, Sam's went through the appropriate channels and authorities were immediately contacted however when the police arrived none of the complainants filed a police report!!! The police investigated and noted no forced entry nor were there any knives missing from our kitchen, we do not keep cutlasses in our kitchen! Owner accompanied police to station to file formal report. Group had breakfast and proceeded to don their Carnival attire to take part in the parade. We take offense to this group implying that Sam's staff had anything to do with this incident and their malicious attempts to tarnish our reputation. We have been in existence for over 18 years and barring this isolated incident have enjoyed meeting and taking care of our guests and will continue to do so.

It was an inside job, the thief came in with a key, used weapons from the kitchen of Sam's Guest House, walked in our room at 3am with a flashlight and cutlas, told us he would chop us up and to cover our face with the blanket. The longest 10 minutes of OUR lives! Front and back gate is ALWAYS open, no security, locks can be picked with a finger nail and nothing was done to ensure our safty after the roberry. We only got an apology, no refund, and I will do my best to have this place shut down! NOT SAFE!!!!!!! Pay your money and stay at the Hilton
