Let me start by saying that the decor is comfy and stylish. Quite a small restaurant, but makes for a cosy atmosphere.
Our server was polite and quick, but could definitely have smiled more.
The food was definitely BELOW average. If this was a hole-in-the-wall sushi restaurant, then I would expect the type of food that was served. However I consider what we were served to be well below average, and some of the dishes weren't even what they're supposed to be. For example, the shrimp tempura (a favourite of mine) was NOT shrimp tempura. It looked and tasted like a heavily battered and oily shrimp one would buy in the frozen section of the grocery. Tempura batter is supposed to be light and crunchy...this batter was thick, dense and resembled phulori. The rolls were acceptable but definitely NOT worth the price, and resembled pre-made sushi found in a grocery. The sashimi was acceptable but was not as fresh as it should be.
If you're looking for a real sushi experience, this is definitely not the place to go. The food is overpriced considering some of the dishes are not what they're supposed to be and poor in quality. I'm not a cheap person and don't mind spending money on food that tastes good, but $500TT for food I can buy in a grocery is ridiculous. I've had infinitely better sushi at all-you-can-eat restaurants for a fraction of the price. If they're going to serve this kind of food, they should lower their prices and call it something else.
