Supposedly the Queen's Park Savannah is a "park" for people to congregate and hang out it. It is in the middle of a raging traffic circle, surrounded by polluting cars and trucks all day long. To cross the street and reach this "savannah" is life threatening. Not worth your time to even take a photo...

The Queens Park savannah has something for everyone. If you wish to take a therapeutic stroll around, play football, have a cold coconut, experience some local food or even conduct a "bootcamp" session, this is the place. The distance around is about 3.5km, so one can always see persons jogging, walking etc. One can also experience the breath-taking views of historical buildings or even smell the fresh scent of flowers while strolling. It's relatively safe, but I would caution visitors to be more vigilant after 7:00pm.

The Savannah is a large almost flat area of grass. It's approx 3 miles to walk around it and you will always find people walking or jogging around it. You'll also find people playing football. There isn't much going on during the day, it's just like a very large playing field. There are trees around the area that have signs showing the proper name, common name and place of origin. More trees and plants can be found in the botanical gardens across the road from the savannah. In the evening people come out selling all kinds of food from stalls. It's more lively at this time.

This is one huge park. My visit wasn't during Carnival, but I can only imagine the massive amounts of people gathering there. It is a clean park in the middle of magnificent mountain views all around. Definitely will be there Carnival 2015!!

Large 5mile circumference to this area in the centre of Port of Spain which the locals use for excercise jogging etc.
