Residents of the island often take for-granted the beauty of this beach. It is not just the best beach on the island, but the best beach in the Caribbean. Long stretches of soft sand, close to many eating establishments which often the famous Maracas bake and shark, great waves and always populated by enough people to feel lively but never too much to feel claustrophobic.

This beach is the epitome of relaxation and the laid back island vybe. Maracas has a special place in hearts of all Trinidadians and one visit will show you why.

According to the time of year, the water is warm, and fairly calm. If surfing is your thing, there are big waves too! A fishing port is near to the eastern side of this picturesque bay. The drive to get there rivals Hawaii in terms of the breathtaking views.

The bake and shark at Richard's is a gastronomical surprise. Tasty flour patties stuffed with superbly seasoned fish and all the condiments including lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, tamarind sauce, pepper if your like that, and mayo. Yummm-o!!!!!

There is a small fee for parking, ($10.00TT). The bathroom facilities could be cleaner, but they are there!

If you are coming to Trinidad, do not leave that out of your visiting list.

Can be a little rough sometimes but it's a great attraction for any tourist that may visit. Lots of food vendors to choose from.
