The drive from Port-of-Spain was up the mountains through winding roads and takes about 45 minutes. Once there it is well worth it. It is a great beach, lots of waves, sun and good food. It does have changing rooms and showers which does not occur as often as you would wish at beaches in Trinidad. There was ample room to spread your beach towel and not be trampled over by lots of people. However on holiday weekends it can get very crowded so plan your trip accordingly. You must try Richard's bake and shark. It is very tasty, especially all the sauces which you can add to the dish and it was not expensive. However there were quite a few stray dogs which spoiled the venue as we ate in the open next to the beautiful beach.
