Owner description: This popular beach spot fulfills the fantasy of the ideal Caribbean beach, but is just as famous for the scenic rainforest drive that must be made to reach it.

This is a very pretty beach in Maracas Bay. We went on a Wednesday when it wasn't so crowded and stopped at a Bake and Shark stand across the street. The condiments for the Bake and Shark were great, so many to choose from, from garlic sauce and mango chutney to standard (trini style) ketchup and mustard, cole slaw, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, pineapple, hot pepper sauce, etc. We ordered the king fish because shark is endangered but the king fish had some bones in it. Still overall, beautiful beach and great food.

Try the FISH (fried slices of king fish) and bake (sort of like focaccia) from vendors on the beach at least once. It's delicious. Go during the week when it's less busy - didn't like the crowds and having to pay 10 TT for parking then walk to try to find an open spot. Beautiful beach but sand is darker than Cay-Mahn, Bermuda and Bahamas. (Limin' - trini for hanging out)

I had kingfish and bake one day and flying fish and bake the other day - I am still dreaming about the kingfish. The water is beautiful and I spent hours with the kids building sand castles. A great beach!
