“Dont bother”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2013

I wouldnt bother to stay here again. There are much nicer places in Mayaro. It wasnt completely dirty, althought rat poison was left out and we did see a few cockroaches. This Sunset Beach Resort is not like the one in Jamacia at all. For a few dollars more you can stay at Radix or Queens Beach. I would never waste my time or money at Sunset again. Disgraceful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“My favourite beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 10, 2012

Mayaro is my favourite place to come and admire the Atlantic Ocean. I love that the beach is so expansive, it doesn't feel crowded like smaller bays would on a weekend. RASH resort is really great for the price.

“Beautiful Mayaro”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2012

Mayaro beach is indeed one of my favorite places. It's really beautiful... especially around Easter. Great place to get away from it all yet you have the convenience of having Supermarkets, KFC, Subway etc close by. You have the choice of many places to stay though I'm of the opinion that Queens Beach Resort is the best. Their rates may be pricey for some when compared to the rest but it's well worth the money. The only problem with Queens Beach Resort is that their rooms are not Ocean facing but the ambience makes up or that. As for the rest such as Moondrop, Radix, Sunset Beach, RASH, Harry's and such I strongly suggest that you check them out before making a booking. That aside Mayaro is the best.

“Great Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2012

This site is a great place to just get away......there is also a season when the Portuguese Man-O-War Jellyfish appears in the water and sometimes washed up on shore.....be careful you will get stung.......they are pretty to look at but admire they from afar......they resemble a plastic bag floating on the water.....the water is great too and the people are friendly....

“Sunset Beach Resort”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2012

My cousins and their families and my family spent the weekend of 17th to 19th August 2012 at Sunset Beach Resort... it was most disappointing.... There were no towels, no soap, probably one pot to cook.... the air condition unit in the living room was not working properly... the toilet wasn't flushing properly... if that wasn't bad enough we had an additional visitor in our apartment... yes it was a living mouse, the mouse was caught alive and placed in a bucket and put outside in the corridor for other guests to see.... we had no water, yes that's right, no water! from Saturday evening to Sunday morning.... Water from the apartments above kept dripping on my husband while he tried to sleep in the bedroom.... i mean really??? it's not $15.00 we paid to stay there... then to realize that people who weren't even guests were allowed to bathe and crowd the pool, no wonder the water was so murky and disgusting, we found hair and other things floating in the water.... grrrrooooossssss.....
i will never recommend anyone to go there, i'm sure as hell will never go there again, i could honestly say that it was really the worst experience ever... and to make it worst is that there was no one around to talk to, nobody passed around to inform us of the water situation....nothing.... It's not right to pay to go somewhere that defeats the comfort of your own home... oh and the place smelt like a toilet...
